First post in the art thread!

My musical project, Great American Desert, produces Blackened Luciferian Doom Metal.

I suppose that's all I can say in promotion of it. Enjoy:

Also, check out Ixaxaar Occult Literature. I have a booklet published by them, and another essay to be published soon in Clavicula Nox II: Lucifer.

Thanks, man. Yeah, the review is pretty killer.
I'm wondering really how much of an audience it will reach, though.

the sad reality about "undeground" art is that its not really entirely accessable to thee masses. But it does influence other artists a lot. Myself, i'd be happy if some huge metal band said
"-yeah we listened to this crazy old hippies industrial album and it made me realize that music is wat we want to do."

Damn! That is my music right there. Awesome stuff dude. I hope to God some bands get influenced by you. We need more music like this.

Fuck that...hope to God that I get a record deal.

That, too. My previous post was just refering to this quote:

um, ok well i guess that my post was kind of a downer. But it's not really taht hard to get a record deal. Shop a round, there are a lot of good independent labels.

I've shopped around aplenty. I'm not genre-oriented enough for most labels. Too doom for a black label, too black for a doom label, et cetera.

hmm. Well fuck them and their exclusionary musickal consevatism. A lot of bands mix death and black metal, why can't they mix doom a black metal? Crossover or blends of metal are a natural progression.

All of the greatest bands in history did something new...something that couldn't be categorized. It's pretty sad that even independent labels can't think outside of the box.

It's pretty sad that even independent labels can't think outside of the box.I think that has something to with them going with some that they know will sell averagely, as opposed to something that might sell huge or might be a failure. I think most labels go for a sure thing.

What the hell are you implying?

Anyway, good news: a good underground label will be releasing Great American Desert's split with Drear. I won't tell the name until they make it official on their website (which should be tomorrow).

OFFICIAL:

Great American Desert / Drear split to be released on Autumn Winds Productions...

GREAT AMERICAN DESERT/DREAR
"Solipsis/Warring Against The Sun" Split CD Release

AWP005
January/February 2006

Desolate, Luciferian, God-Crushing Blackened Doom Metal. Born in the Osage Plains at the foot of the Eastern Hills; transplanted into the grey, rain-drenched landscape of the Northwest...Great American Desert is the essence of desolation, the sonic representation of Lucifer on Earth, and the emanation of the Demonic philosophy of its mastermind. A vehicle for hatred, disgust and majestic mindscape.

"Warring Against the Sun", Drear play raw blackened Doom, snatching glimpses at the futility of Man and the failure of the universe.

Haha, yeah...must be a clever marketing technique.
I'm having the artwork done by a rather good (evil) artist...I'm eagerly looking forward to the finished product!

Well, now that we've plowed our way through obstacle after obstacle (some Demon really doesn't want this album to see the light of day), Solipsis is finally being minted as we speak.

It's been an interesting sample of time, these past few months. The artist hired on to do the artwork fell silent. All people who knew him via the internet could not get him to respond to emails, not even the owner of the label. A couple people even took to calling him on the telephone, with no answer and no return. He simply abandoned the project and, apparently, all other projects he was working on, and opted to disappear without informing any of those depending on him that he'd made such a decision.

A friend then volunteered to pick up the duties, and was offered a small payment by the label. Several months later, he finally put some effort forth, but at his own pace...enough said.

Long story short, the Great American Desert / Drear split release, which was due to be released in late January or early February, might actually be available in just a few weeks.

Quite a learning experience, it was.

Dude, that is seriously great work. Having come from a Death metal background, and having been in a tight brotherhood of black metal and grindcore, That is eternal sound you have there.

http://forums.abrahadabra.com/%5BIMG%5Dhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v255/Saintinistic/DEATHMETAL.jpg%5B/IMG%5DI have for many years wished to create my own symphony. I have lyrics but all the session musicians have lost it on crystal M.

So alas, Sons of the Serpent, will never be realised. I have thought about a more D'N'B version using Fruity loops6, but I cant for the life of me sort the damn thing out, having made a few sounds I cannot sequence them into a song.

Anyways, I fade into your enshrouding great work of the divine blood of forever.

.

try using acid loops! it is a very easy software to use, and it has midi capabilitie too.

Wow, old thread here.

I suppose I'll update again.

The GAD/Drear split came out many moons ago and has received an interesting array of reviews. I still have a few copies available for sale or trade if anybody's interested.

I have some material in the works now, such as a split with Glorior Belli and perhaps a themed album (theme as-yet undisclosed). I continue to do some session vocals for Vrolok here and there, such as the intro vocals for the title track of the VOID album which, if you've not yet heard and you're a black metal fan, you should be ashamed of yourself!

I also have another publication in the works which will likely be issued via Ixaxaar and will include artwork contributed by Infestuus of Glorior Belli.
