View Full Version : The Abrahadabra glyph and the subject of gender

Abrahadabra gets a lot of attention as a Solar Glyph and chiefly masculine in nature. This actually is not the case. It is true that it is a highly solar glyph...it is simply not true that Sol is the unique province of the masculine. It may help to some extent to reflect on what few feminine solar goddess forms exist historically...take Raath, the feminine side of Ra for instance. Look to Ahathoor (Egyptian) and Brigid (Celtic) and Amaterasu (Japanese) and Ningal (Sumerian) and Shapash (Phoenician) and Euryphaessa(Greek), just to name a few...
Perhaps one of the best ways to approach the femininine side of Sol is to look to cyclical relationships in general and not focus so much on direct assertive action which tends to be more "penetrating" and thus more masculine by design. It's the seasonal and cyclical aspects of Sol that tends to reveal its feminine side, although Raath can be prettty damn direct when she's pissed off...

Ok thank you.
Is it predominantly masculine or not, in your opinion?
m1thr0s

It's predominantly solar...Are stars predominently masculine? I'm not prepared to assert that even though it may still be a common cultural assumption, ie, suns = masculine, moons = feminine... I fall into this myself and really should (and do) know better
I think the right answer is that it is predominently solar. period.
what concerns me about any kind of stereotypes is that they are inherently divisive. If it's a "masculine" thing well then women are free to treat it superficially since it doesn't really involve them...it's just another man-thing like greasy car engines or football etc...
I don't believe that to be the case here...I think that this is everybody's "problem" and everybody's potential as well...

Cool, ok. Well I think stars are predominantly masculine, and the space between the stars is predominantly feminine. But you can't fully take either one out of the other. We have women mechanics and women who dig football, or even try to play football. It's funny when you go into something with no proconceived notions. In highschool I asked where I sign up for the football team, to try it out. They laughed at me and I really had no clue football was guys only. It wasn't at all a feminist sort of thing, I was just curious what it was like. They ended up putting me on the sports medicine team for the games.
But even if it is masculine I don't think that means we can ignore it. We may just have to approach it differently depending on how large your soul is. I know I'm more of a man than most of the men I know, but I'm also more of a woman than almost every single woman I have ever met. So in that regard perhaps the Abrahadabra symbol appears masculine to me because it is so much larger than I am and the features are evident to me there.
It is a bit too angular to be a balanced symbol....that's why I don't believe it's the whole map for the universe -- without the circle around it. I know, it has the tree of life in it, but trees are sort of androgynous. (Although the confederated NW tribes have a system to determine whether cedars are male or female)
Let's take your example of the car mechanic type. I may not enjoy digging around in my car and attempting to fix it, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I do use cars. So I would have to delegate that task to the auto mechanic.
As this research wears on I think this topic is only going to get more indepth so it would probably be really cool to split off this tangent into another thread too...

mm hmm, and I like the idea of sun goddesses too, I just think that they are not the same as sun gods....

yeah...this is turning into another topic. One last bit though on this. If we can remember to translate "masculine & feminine" into "yang & yin" we stand a better chance of avoiding the division problem since all beings amount to a balance of both polarities or none of them would be functional critters to begin with. It's built right into things at a subatomic level. So dominances do not imply exclusivities and if we can remember that then some of these generalizations still work out ok I think...
An equilateral triangle always implicates a perfect circle whether it is displayed or not, so I still tend to resolve masculine & feminine this way. On the flip side, there is an old kid's trick relating to triangle-stick figures that figures into this. An ascending triangle with legs & arms & head looks feminine, a descending with arms & legs & head looks masculine. In the 4 elements 2 triangles are masculine and 2 feminine...so even triangles are technically heterogeneous...

you just confused me...
edit: I mean the second part, that first bit about the yin/yang, yeah I get that.
don't laugh...

it's bizarre that we don't really have a word that very well defines "both genders". "Heterogeneous" is about as close as it gets and this is only indirectly accurate. Androgeneous sort of works but usually implies something closer to "indeterminant" gender than a balanced both and this doesn't work for something like a star, or a symbol like the TwinStar which comprises a well defined male-female polarities occupying the same physical space.

hermaphrodite:
ORIGIN ME: via L. from Gk hermaphroditos, orig. the name of the son of Hermes and Aphrodite who became joined in one body with the nymph Salmacis.
it may have to do, although I'm not thrilled with it personally. perhaps if it were more broadly applied it would work better. I don't suppose you can get away with a word like hermaphrogeneous, can you? I never cared for the sound of hermaphroditic...sounds like a venereal disease...

doesn't 418 have a coonection to bablon? if so, i would think that would indicate a very strong feminine elelment.

Crowley Described 418 as the holy Graal, the cup of Babalon, in which you pour all of your life's blood in order to traverse the abyss, as such it is the Yoni itself... The cup of babalon is the womb in which all the religions of the world spill their seed; at first abominations, eventually a true synthesis. He also talks about the blood fermenting in said cup, and making wine. All of this is feminine symbolism... I think he's right in this respect... The Solar masculine aspect is the child; the synthesis. If you've ever grokked Nietzsche's 'Camel Lion Child' metamopheses in the first chapter of Zarathustra, then I think you have the idea of where this goes, too.

briefly, my hit is this. solar images include the lunar, in terms of system. From two perspectives. From one viewpoint we see solar representing eminated light, lunar representing reflective light. One, moons are a result of solar formations, being orbiting bodies within a solar system, although a "true" moon orbits a planet, planet is a a lunar form on a bigger scale. What differentiates a star from a planet is only the nuclear flashpoint, although that point is definitive line between the two forms and crucial to the definition. Meaning that the material mass of a body determines whether it becomes a star, black hole, or whatever, not some mystical intent on the behalf of the star itself; we are talking about organizing principles of the physical universe.
More in line with function of a star though, the other viewpoint is that solar and lunar activity is representative of projective and reccessive states. I see both solar and lunar activity at an atomic level, a star uses both fusion and fission in its life, and when we look at the twin star we see all of the above behaviors. From formative matter (quarks and nuons) to nuclear matter (Positrons and electrons) to flow ( fission and fusion ) the tantric nature of the twin star accounts for all these levels of reality plus the neutral and combinitave state they achieve in their formation and combination.
Break that down. I'm back.

"Abrahadabra gets a lot of attention as a Solar Glyph and chiefly masculine in nature."
It's the way things are built from before birth... It's nice to be noticed... but when those who can't climb, "afraid of all heights", grump about fact and truth, claiming it don't fit their voids their way, as their alternative to not climbing, but to be lifted, full diaper'n all, to everything and anything new or old.. to save brain energy.. in believing, "the more you think the less you become"... because the more they think, the more they sees how much nothing they truly are... They sees the frightening truth.. bolts, and runs-away, to how mummy would have done it...
Abra's id, a dragon sharing dragon love with those who seek out new truth...
Changing for the sobs of lonely groupies, is why I hide so well.. cuz I'd really hate to have a wake of sobbing groupies forever nipping at mine heals... I wouldn't be solo then... I'm not good at parties... AH's hit.. and I rips 'em insideout...
...Years ago, in winter.. near Xmas.. a neighbor gives me three ounces of very weak pot.. he's moving to the States, to join in on a huge grow operation... And still has to vac and shampoo his car, to make it through the border unscathed...
I had no-one.. nothing to do the holiday season... so I roamed around the city, pickin' up hitch hikers, and driving them to their invite parties... It got me into visiting a lot of shit-parties... By the fifth shit-party, I had had enough!.. I went into the sixth-party, and walked through from one end to the other... meeting everyone who seemed to have a functional mind... There was one... As I'm leaving... got my boots and coat on.. the one person I did like at the party, approached, asking sadly, "Why are you leaving so soon?".. I handed him the ounce of pot... "I can't afford this!", says he...
"It's free.. I gotta-go.. Nice meeting you".." His eyes bulged.. as did the three hounds hovering around him...
I hops into my purple triumph spitfire.. she starts instant as instant gets.. like she was glad to get out of there too... probably cuz of the three scruffy gorillas hovering over-her outside of the party.. escaped the hell's-aura part of a party.. without loosing my new boots, or stuff from the dash and trunk, and without a single key-scrape on my sweetie...
I pats her gently on the dash, as we zooms-away at 40mph into the lull of the crispy soft night's air... "You show me where the next party is... Find us a nice one.. I done six misses... Scan the city.. Give me single relay-click for left.. two clicks for right.."
Solution to Abra's gender conflict... is to be yourself.. and know that the dragon is female when she is called for.. as much as she is male when he is called for... equals a non-gender forum.. just people chatting about stuff that composes the out shells of our Species collective unconscious....
Before I would respond to a complainer's bitching about "gender"... I would demand they post a pix of themself nude, and a thesis on love.. to establish a viable-base upon which to assist me in the decision-process of complaint handling...
If I didn't.. half my life would be spent on processing quiet for the screams of depressed mindless babies and groupies, commanding me how to live my life for them..

45. Behind the ears are the dragon's venom sacs...
Touching a dragon's venom sacs will give it one hell of a headache, and very likely make it want to bite you...
For 35 years I have been breathing Life into my dragon' nostrils, and giving them puddles, in their cupped hands, of my warm fresh salty blood, to lap up... and given that "you are what you eat", them 180 puppies are Mine, sayeth the Brat...
What about the dragon's organs..? How is it they can be 300 foot tall, and in a second be small enough to rest on your shoulder like a pet parrot..?
Have you ever heard a dragon's voice..? It's a whole language, seemingly composed of high pitched squeals and screams on inbreath...
Dragons are affectionate gentle loving creatures...
___________
Define "true moon"...
Dragon
03-04-2007, 07:40 AM
A "true moon" was meant in the sense of classical definition, an orbiting body of an orbiting body. A body that revolves around a sun would fit more into the classical definition of planet, whereas a body that revolves around a planet would be defined as a moon.
Seems a bit rhetorical, but that's the way it is....since you asked.
Question - "How is it they can be 300 foot tall, and in a second be small enough to rest on your shoulder like a pet parrot..?"
Answer - "Dragons like to play perspective games".

To properly deal with petty complainers, the doctor need have a solid understanding the complainer's base, to enable determine the "individual's" base fits the puzzle interlock formats of the system being scrutanated and attacked, to enable determine if the antagonist is essentially an integral part of the system.. or merely a warring termite antagonist against the peace and presence of the system...
To try to include all humanity in any one thing, is impossible... There are angels, and there are workers.. and there is the shit... "Shit", like in the old movie "Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte".. the little witch blond bitch.. who could most likely sell hit on the street, by her smiles and grabber facade of pure innocence, hiding lord Satan himself...
In mediating, the mediator is essentially mediating degrees of civil war...
Each generation of humes, these days, have slightly more evolved in telepathic abilities than the previous... Within each generation, the thinker bloodlines are developing stronger mental capabilities, including basic telepathic abilities.. whilst the numbs are devolving progressively...
The numb's bloodlines are aggressively combating evolutions of everything, in an attempt to maintain their comfy stagnancy quo, like clams stuck to a rock.. so they the mindless won't be forced to stress the dormant brain any more than is absolutely necessary.. other than to inform them, on time, when it is time to do things, for the most part, like: eat, drink, pee, poo, run, jump, work, play, sleep, wake, laugh, cry, and screw, fight, die, and rot... in attempting to prevent the need to need to think to learn anything out of the box new...
There is definitely a major-split in humanity's ranks.. and various smaller growing rifts and rips within and between cultures and mini-cultures, and Societies...
In the long run, a split, at maturity, must eventually have evolved into global civil war, in having reached its pinnacle of discordance.. end-resulting only in the extinction of all Life... and a lot of temporary dragon-food, like floating sardines in space...
I say let's go for the split... Make the split so great, that the intellectual gap is now suicide for a numb to access... Establish the conditions in-which the numbs simply kill themselves off, and delete their own useless bloodlines on their own steam.. by first stopping the supporting of the shit bloodlines of ape, with abusable unregulated welfares, and total coverage legal systems, which give the shit the same rights as the meat and brains... It be time that humanity push the shit out.. including democracy and religion... simply by shutting off all money supplies to the two great evils... They would dry up and fade away in History's roomy coffin...

Sorry... but I autowrite... And it's obvious that you don't see how those posts accurately do fit the topic of this thread... What a thread triggers in me, I write... Then I read it to find out what I said... If you feel it doesn't fit in this thread, then you or I will delete it from this thread, and repost it to where ever you suggest it would fit... If you wish one or three of my posts be entirely deleted from this forum, then just say so.. and I will comply the minute I get your message.. otherwise I will leave it where it is, as it is...
What is that you wish me to edit out of that post?..
HeY!.. You folks invited me into this forum, knowing right well how I write, and how I say it, as you saw how I said it in that horrid little killing arena, "occultforums"...
It's been a tough job trying to wake humes up to a little reality... It's a project that doesn't fit anywhere in humanity's societies and cultures, because no one wants to hear the truth... The truth just doesn't fit in any of humanity's synthetic realities...
Do you have any good suggestions of forums where my style of writing might be a little bit accepted?.. Send me the link.. show me the way, and I'll get out of your face in a newyork minute.. or just politely ask me to leave... I can handle rejection.. it's all I know.. because rejecting is all you know...

Please don't be dramatic, there has been enough of this in the forums lately. I was letting you know that outside of your subjective perspective there was at least one person who was finding your stuff a bit garbled. Just "auto-writing" a rant on any given thread can seem a bit unfocused. I for one do not need to be "woken up", nor I suspect do a lot of people here; just consider the nature of the discussion into the twin-star, and other types of operations along the same intent, who else would be having this kind of discussion except "us" hmm?.
So, in a word, yes, I do know what it is like, and have been up like many others, countless nights over the past decades working on a solution. The whole " Let me do as I please, or I'll take my ball and go home" martyr mentality has been a bit too prevelant here lately, and frankly, for those that are supposedly under a "cosmic directive" it seems a little unbecoming to their calling in life. As a moderator, part of my duties include trying to keep things on track as much as is possible in a whirlwind of creative and scientific postulation, so please do not become so touchy when asked to focus a little, it might actually be good for ya!
It is good for me when I get my attention drawn back into whatever field of play my mind is wandering off of at the time, I don't take it personally, I just try to correct my focus so things become more clear not only to myself, but those around me as well. Over the past couple of decades the twinstar has provided a powerful focusing agent in my circle, and if it is used more in a tantric sense, and simply pondered over less, the better results you have. That is why it has a masculine and a feminine side - so it can breathe with you, and you with it. It is more then just a simple mathematical construct, it is a living form of organizational intelligence, and perhaps one of the wisest teachers I have ever had. It illuminates - and that is why it comes across so solar, because as humans, we instinctively associate things that illuminate or "light up" with the Sun(star).
So in the end I recommend that it is sometimes better to breathe together (Latin: conspire) then to hold one's breath, or breath out of sync. And the best way to do that is to listen to how others breathe, and what their pace and perhaps their words are saying to you from their perspective, instead of just your own.
Truthfully, but kindly -
Dragon
