While scrying the Lo Shu one evening, I began to imagine each elemental symbol in the Lo Shu square as covering the whole Lo Shu grid, and noticed that each of the figures suggested a certain coverage of the 3x3 grid. What I mean by this is that the lines in each symbol suggest coverage of certain boxes of the Lo Shu. Compare the two images to get a sense of what I mean (Edit: I can't get the second image to show up, so you'll have to click on the link to check the uploaded images):

The only elemental symbol that does not correspond so well with the corresponding coverage map is that of the moon, but the it was chosen due to its harmony with some of the properties that I will lay out here. Also, if one were to horizontally flip the top line of the moon glyph, it would better correspond with its coverage map in the top right corner.
Given the following pairs of elements (fire, earth), (air, water), (lingam, yoni), (sun, moon), notice how the coverage maps for any coupling here "fit together". By this I mean that each coverage map is the exact opposite of its pair member. I suppose one could develop a whole realm of mathematics around these types of diagrams, but at the time my intuition led me elsewhere.
For each coverage map, I obtained a sum of Lo Shu number values where there were black circles. For example, the sun coverage map would amount to:
6+ 8+
5+
2+ 4 = 25
To obtain the following "coverage sum map":

This map has some nice properties. 45 in the middle is the sum of the numbers between 1 and 9, suggesting that spirit is the totality of the Lo Shu. Adding together the ends of the 8 lines on the Lo Shu that form a sum of 15, we get:
7 + 23 = 30
20 + 20 = 40
20 + 25 = 45
20 + 25 = 45
20 + 25 = 45
20 + 25 = 45
25 + 25 = 50
38 + 22 = 60
Notice the symetry of the sums. The grand total of those numbers: 320. The closest connection I see here is 32x10, 32 being half of the number of I Ching hexagrams, and 32 also relates to some of the numerology of the Banner Assignments. Admitedly, I'm having a hard time determining why I chose to analyse the number in such a way, and the significance of the intuitive choice.
Moving on, notice the sum of all of the numbers in the coverage sum map is 225, which is 3^2*5^2 or 15x15, 15 being that magickal sum of the lines in the original Lo Shu grid. I'm not quite sure what to make of this all to be honest, yet it's probably one of the most synchronistic mathemagickal discoveries I've made in my short time as a mathemagickian. A big thanks to m1thr0s for suggesting the depth of the Lo Shu, and look deeper I will do. Any insights into this exploration would be appreciated.
