View Full Version : The Brain and Nervous System - Sensations

Ok I want to talk about experiences and knowledge surrounding nervous system phenomenon. If you have all read Gopi Krishna's account of painful kundalini arousal, or ever had magical/magickal phenomenon paired with bodily sensations of tingling, pain or warmth among many other feelings, then you have an idea of what I am talking about.
I have an idea that the locations of different meridians or recievers in the case of the crown area must have corresponding meanings.
Usually when I am learning something very deep and important I will get a slightly uncomfortable feeling in my brain, or crown receptor (it's part of the chakra system but it is not a chakra) Sometimes if it is a topic I have ignored for a long time the pain will be sharp.
I wonder if this is the brain working to break down barriers to old, long buried memories or if it is something else, for instance a link to that body of intelligence.
Thoughts welcome....

My crown is frequently very active.. today I thought I'd follow the vibrations, see where they lead, and I felt a path trace down into my brain then reappear as intense tingling (almost painful) on the surface, between and slightly above my eyes. After a few moments the path traced down the sides of my head (along the nerves behind my jaw) and reconnected at the throat.
At this point I lost the passive observation of the event and the tingling subsided somewhat, but I felt the residue of it so decided to work it into an active middle pillar circulation. I didn't actually feel tingling bellow my throat, but physiological responses happened at each major point. E.g., my heartbeat became... more intense, not necessarily faster, but I felt the pulses reverberate through my whole body.
Very cool stuff anyway.
I think there's always a low level vibration at the centres, which we can become more aware of when we reduce the typical sensory inputs and thought processes. Then, of course, there are many techniques for invigorating energy flow. I'm interested in what others think of spontaneous energy events though.
I initially thought of tension as the reason for the discomfort/pain, Naomi. Whether it's simply related to the attentional resources being directed to the issue, or the processing of emotional material is not something I can determine :D

ooo great thread
When I was interested in raising my kundalini, I went through many sensations along the path.
For awhile I was about tibetan breathing, and at one point was so full of chi, or was it so aware of the chi, prana, I could feel it starting with my cheeks/mouth area and then it spread to my entire chest, and I was buzzzzzzzzzing.
After awhile I got into mantra and kundalnii yoga practice... at some points I would get so electric and warm I'd do all sorts of crazy things to "calm it down" once I realized "something is happening".
Then eventually, my body took over and -pop- samadhi or what have you..
visual cortex changes and entire relaxation from every tension - incredibly hard to edify beyond.. that.

Yeah well the traditional meridian system just sets you up for Dim Mak attack and a whole load of conventioanl sorcery clans as I see it: so change aournd how you're wired for starts. This changes your nervous system and how things run thru, and where nerves are placed often even. Also generally offset the actual organ correspondence to an element by at least 1 space in the 5-elemental cycle. Including a Void space. Add more. Play.
Then in turn you can use your body differently, eg thinking with your heart (which many mystics do anyway) or seeing with your fingertips (which a lot of people I know like to do in AP).
There's physical form correspondences of this too, just as vice versa. You be the Master, not your biology or the qualities/properties of your various vehicles is the point really.
all the best,
Oazaki.
