View Full Version : Weird Dreams...

I occasionally have pretty weird dreams that seem to mean something but who the hell knows what.
Seems like it might be useful to log a few of these as they come up.

This one isn't all that weird but contains a bit of a mystery I can't sort out.

It's a fairly short dream.

I am hanging out with my ex and we are in her new house and people are moving things in and there's a lot of confusion. I am trying to help her but I don't know the layout and don't recognize any of her stuff so it's pretty chaotic.

She's acting pretty weird...like she's in some sort of trance or something. She says let's take a break. I want to introduce you to this interesting group I have found called Mavin. Never heard of it so I ask her a few questions. Who the hell are these people? What's so special about them? She can't really explain it so I decide to go with her to check them out.

They have this little temple thingy going on that looks something like a Rosicrucian Center or something from the outside but perhaps a bit more like your average brick apartment building in other respects. We find the door and go in but it's only the lobby area. We have to wander around to figure out where we will be going in. I have to be with her cuz you only get in with an invite. Inside we pass a restroom and then there is a maze of halls and things to negotiate to get to the main entrance area. Some lady asks me if I have seen a restroom cuz she's about to pop so I tell her sure...I'll show you how to get there. Take her down and then come back and my ex has disappeared. I figure she has already gone in so I go up to a lady who is now at the entrance door and tell her I think my ex has already gone in and I am suppose to be with her. She says, well...it's not usual to let people in that way but OK (she beams at me with this *knowing* expression)... So I go in.

It's sort of like a college lecture room setup but there seems to be a lot of kids in there and just a few adults but my ex is nowhere to be found. There is a familiarity about the room though and I find myself feeling as though I have finally found the right place for me to be. I find a seat where I think she will be able to find me and wait for the presentation to begin. There's a big screen and various things about...not a fancy room but comfortable. And I am thinking, what the hell is "Mavin"? What does that even mean?

And suddenly I wake up. No ex...no presentation...nothing...a total dream rip-off. But I still don't know what the word means so I decide to run a Google seach just in case because I have never heard this word and never used it, yet it sounds like a word that ought to have some meaning...

"mavin" leads me to "maven"...here is the link (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/maven):
ma·ven also ma·vin (mhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/amacr.gifhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/prime.gifvhttp://img.tfd.com/hm/GIF/schwa.gifn) n.
A person who has special knowledge or experience; an expert.

wiki link (with a bit more information): maven (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maven)

Here's another weird bit...this word derives from Yiddish (binah, understanding) but was only introduced into English in about 1952...I was born February 2, 1953 (Ustur Day in the Sumerian, Candlemass elsewhere)... It's no wonder I don't know the word since it has only had a very little circulation...just barely enough to make it into most (very) current dictionaries...

It's a very interesting word...more than a "Magus" for instance...more akin to a "Guru" I think...something I would never consent to call myself (culturally inappropriate)...yet my dreams appear to want me to know this (alternative) word...

huh??? what the hell for??? so I am logging this one under weird dream mysteries...

showman...that's fine...I'm just a little sick and tired of seeing the whole world going apeshit over trained monkeys...

in any case...I don't quite think that's what the dream was indicating...

now that max has crapped all over the term it's probably useless anyway...

too bad. life goes on...thanks for the link though. I needed to know that.

If that was my dream I'd also consider " Mavin=Maa(ts') Inn".
You've already connected the word with Binah too; perhaps you're ex ?

Dreams sometimes play on words--- like I need tell you.

Dreams sometimes play on words--- like I need tell you.yeah...the curious thing here is that I honestly didn't even know the word..at least not consciously...

Nah, he'not well known enough, at least Ive never heard of him.

I had a particularly striking lucid dream once which resulted in seeing a written name/word (actually it was on a digital display) which I can still remember, albeit imprecisely, due to the fluid nature of dreams (Altana, Atlana, Altea, but not Atlantis). Being able to hear or see a word in a dream to the extent that you can remember it and take it more or less intact into waking is quite a singular experience.

yeah...I think that's true CCD. That's what really caught my interest about this dream...the whole thing was obviously geared to this one word...I think that's why the dream itself ended so abruptly...nothing to confuse the transmission...and then for the word to actually have relevance like that...hard to dismiss as just a coincidence etc...

Have you gone about trying to decipher it gematrically, to see if it matches up to any words numerically that are important to your personal system? Or maybe even the word itself is a cypher for another word? (If this is the case, it may be useless unless you possess some key to deciphering it.)

Hmmm...

I've had the same thing happen to me, m1thr0s.

In one dream I was back in high school and everyone was excited (apart from my angsty self) because a group of priests were there trying to locate a girl who was supposed to be the incarnation of a goddess - a bit like the Dalai Lama. My peers asked me, "Do you think she's really a goddess?" and I snapped "I don't care." My brother then asked me to read a word for him he had written on a sheet of paper - rogue. I impatiently told him the word was rogue, and then I woke up.

Another time I was made to memorize a talisman with the word "Nimrodeion" etched across the top so that I would know it when I woke. When I woke I started searching for clues as to whether the word meant anything or not, but all I found was that the root of the word was the name of an ancient ruler that defied God.

I tend to think that both are clues about my nature in some way, and going from there it would make sense that you would see the word mavin/maven in your dream. At least, that's as far as I got with them. Perhaps they mean more.

Always interesting when this happens, though.

If it is a prophetic dream, I would take it to mean that you will be led to a place and postition that is right for you in the natural course of your everyday life. Your ex initially being in a trance-like state and then disappearing shows that she is not relevant to the main message, but represents a connection that is instrumental in leading you to the place you need to be.

The primary message I get is that you are/will be in a position to share understanding.

well I asked my ex about it to see if she even knew what the word meant and it turned out she did (sort of) know what it meant from having heard it used once someplace. I'm almost certain I had never heard the word but it's possible that I actually have and just didn't log it for personal use.

On reflection I think it may have something to do with conflicts surrounding the word "guru" which I have always felt should be reserved for those stemming from the tradition in which it actually derives. Not only the word, but a whole relationship to one's students is involved in this kind of reflection, since I have begun to actually acquire students and I think I have been a little uncertain of this. Somehow changing the word seems to have also changed my perspective a bit. For some reason I feel like I can accept the term "maven"...it's a fair assessment of my relation to a fairly exclusive body of knowledge and my intention to get that information across to others...

I could just be compounding chaos with confusion but it seems to feel about right. Most dreams are about self-reflection in some way or another...

The gematria on "maven" isn't too impressive. MVN = 96= 3 x 32 so that's kind of cool. also 8 x 12 and a few nick-nacks...nothing especially mind-blowing or anything...

I found this one on OccultForums.com - I don't think anyone there will be able to give me feedback so I'm pulling it over here since it is so unusual.

A while back, I had a dream about a figure who I named "The Red King". The figure seemed to contain a lot of Mars symbolism and I wanted the opinions of others.

The Red King was very tall, a man without skin, very bloody. Grey eyes. He was wearing a tall rusty crown and his robe was burlap and covered in dried blood. He was also surrounded by fire.

In the dream he acted as a sort of grim reaper. He had the ghost of a little girl hiding behind him. The mother of the girl was pleading with him to give back her child, but the Red King said he couldn't do that and said the only way she could be with her is to die herself. The mother offered her hand, and he took it (so I assume she chose death).

I was a spectator in this dream, invisible to the ghost and the mother. But the Red King knew I was there and acknowledged me with the occasional cold glance.

That's strange, I've seen the same man without skin, and my son has as well. Creeped me the fuck out as he was in my house constantly and nothing I did could get rid of it, this was about 4 years ago however, right before I gave birth to my girl and it prompted me to engage in chod practice and meditate on Yama tantra mantra.

There's some profound symbolism going on there, and the fact I couldn't banish it was disturbing to me as I'm usually able to eject anything out of my sphere. So there may have been a will conflict within myself. Something I wanted that he was offering, though on some level I couldn't see it.

That's very curious because I've had a dream where I was the one doing the Red King's job, or one very similar. Although I appeared much differently than him. This makes me wonder about some personal matter, as well as about gods or spirits of death in general.

Also during this period I was studying the Kabbala - specifically I was learning to vibrate the names of the Sephiroth randomly - no rhyme or reason to any of it. I was also doing the Star Sapphire, Star Ruby and Middle Pillar exercises - whatever I could find online.

Then I read a site with the names of all of the Qlippothic spheres and I vibrated those too, because the site warned it was irrevocably damaging to one's karma to even speak the words aloud. :)

So the kids had dreams about him, I had a dream about him, and when we finally all sat down and talked about our experiences I went over to the laundry room and was able to percieve him just hanging out there. None of the traditional methods of removal worked.Besides being creepy, I can't say he caused any misfortune really - though there was significant tension between us until we moved to Memphis. Greg was the one who left from Georgia last and he actually felt this entity clinging to him as he was driving north, he ended up getting lost and driving to a nuclear power plant, and then finally breaking the link when he drove over a large river.

So then this creepy skinless man started hanging out in the walls between the laundry room and the shower and he would come out at night. Oh this is right before I had that dream about the guy screwing me in the graveyard too. Weird huh?

Mmkay, no takers on that one, that's fine (to borrow Bey Nalyd's maneuver) I'm going to attempt to talk to the "red king" later and see what he has to say.

Here's a couple of other weirdies, which havn't much of any connection to my life experiences at the time, although a few video games since then have resembled them slightly.

Age 11-12?

(Lucid) I'm in a pit filled with mud, there's a horde of screaming people above me, shouting at me, cheering me on. I have a trident in my hand, and I'm ankle deep in the filth of the pit. Everything is grey or brown tinted, except for these strange neon colored creatures, tangerine, lemon and green fleshlumps really with myriad stubby tentacles. They can jump. The crowd is cheering me on to stab at them, and I do, nailing a couple. The dream fades after I impale a few and I wake up.

Age 17

I'm in a cube shape concrete pit, naked and waist deep in blood. Above me there is a grate and a ladder. Behind me is a tunnel, leading deep into a maze of concrete. I'm holding a chainsaw, inexplicably. Strangely, I'm enjoying myself, the blood feels warm. I turn to walk down the tunnel and then I wake up.

But later I did pathworking in the tunnels in visions. This one reminded me of the neon creatures.

Coupla years ago (post chod initiation)

I'm in the desert, and I fall over, dead from what, I cannot remember now, but my spirit separates from my body. A horde of coyotes comes up and starts devouringmy dead body. I lie down and watch them, interested. One of them turns to me and says "Hey you want some chica?" I shake my head. The main coyote jumps on me and starts fucking me, though it's not really memorable.

I had this one last year, I remember it was really pretty cool, happened around spring right before I was helping out one of my hermetically inclined friends open a gothic club. I always like talking to him even though he is my total opposite, blonde hair, welsh, always wearing white lol...

I should call him if he hasn't left for China already.....

But anyways I was sleeping....

And in my dream I'm standing outside my house on the front patio. I look up into the sky and I think I can summon animals!

So I point at a dragonfly and command it to come down out of the blue sky and it lands on my finger. Then I think "Hmm I wonder what else I can summon." so I scan the sky looking for other things to call down. I point at a flock of birds and some small sparrows fly down and look at me. Then I look up again into the sky and I see an eagle or a hawk or something and I point at that too.

"WHUMP!"

This huge guy who is like eight feet tall lands in front of me, and he's wearing this gorgeous golden armor holding a sword. And he has a gold eagle head and wings. I swear it was the coolest most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I remember just staring up at him with my mouth open for a few minutes and he blinked at me...it was very realistic and lucid.

Then I woke up but I could still feel the energy it was really neat.

Later I talked to Kangi Tanka (Raven) about it, because generally that is who you talk to when things have to do with Tengu. The strange thing was this guy didn't look at all like the Tengu I am used to. I've never seen them wear gold Italian armor....

So, during the channel performed by TheTengu/Greg (high priest of Raven) I learned that he had been sent to stay and protect me because "Things were about to get really dangerous." I laughed (I hardly ever take anything seriously) and asked him what his name was. I was told he had just been created from the source itself for this purpose, so it didn't matter what I called him. And then nothing - Kangi wouldn't tell me anymore.

I named him Kisaku though and talked to him alot about stuff, and I spent alot of time with Raven, every night I would go to sleep hugging him in his feathers. Funny, I had never really been that close to him before.

One night, around February of this year I went to visit Kangi/Raven and found myself in the middle of a battlefield in Iraq. It was night there and I saw Raven whispering into one of the soldier's ears to "Move, Move now. Go over here." and the soldier guy got up and ran someplace and some shrapnel hit where he was just standing. So I cut off the link because I felt really stupid because I think I was going to ask something frivolous. And I was like "oohhhhh oops, let me just stfu." So after that I stopped talking to him at all. (sometimes I would still go to see him though)
