Any forum...no matter how great its theme or how well organized it may be is ultimately only as successful as its membership is strong and assertive.

There is almost certainly no way possible to implement every good idea we get from everybody but we are going to do our best to try. But we need to know what those ideas are...if you don't speak up it probably won't happen. This is a ban-free environment folks...nobody is going to lose anything by speaking out here.

Layout Confusing? Can't find what you need? Not sure how to start a thread? Want to promote your own site but you don't know if it's ok? Site's ok but you hate the smilies? Whatever the deal is...big or small...you've got to let us know what's going on or we can't possibly address it.

So we really do want your input and we really are paying attention to it...just so you know.

thanks in advance,

There's a lot of flaming on the Net, as we've all discovered... It's what kills a good blog or forum...
And given that the Internet was birthed as an assist for wars.. for the Net to be a safe fun place.. we are forced to numb ourselves to war.. while playing inside one of its tools... requiring maintaining a reasonable degree of focus and smarts... Any less is "hell"...

Those who haven't experienced flaming, either haven't been born.. or just haven't ever posted an opinion on the Net yet...

There is a lot to be said, and learned from flaming and trying to not flame... We learn several ways.. one is by others reactions to ourselves...
Basically Flaming is the attempt to violently sway another's opinion to that which someone else can be comfortable with... Ideally everyone respect other's opinions, even if they haven't the slightest clue what is being said... This is where we stop and listen (read), silent, till we do catch on... We re-read it till we have a reasonable multi-level set of views on it.. and should an opinion suddenly form.. that's because we slipped off understanding the true meanings of what we read... Go back and read it again...

We restart reading that post, till we have skipped through the whole thing without forming one single pinion... then we got it, as it was meant to be got... Surpass your opinions.. they are your walls.. and take a ride on the Views highway.. to see what's out there.. and inside here...

Or we simply find a thread and topic, which we are capable of processing, and enhance that thread's content and pardy, with your experiences and speculations, in a dual effort to expand ones own wisdoms, while expanding other's wisdoms... essentially working each other up and up and up... till ye are all gods.. or better...

This is Mankind... We are animals with a plus... Essentially everyone is brilliant in their ways.. as they are idiots in their ways... So What... Everyone has their own share of their own "crazy"... If we didn't, we would all be gods... Everyone knows that, so there is absolutely no need to remind others that they have deficiencies and issues... So What... Essentially each of us is doing our Best to resolve unwanted negatives... That be a big part of what forums do for you... Respect that.. and Learn... and Teach... Maintain it a brotherhood.. not a zoo...

If something is too complex for you to grasp.. and you really really want to get it.. I'm sure there are those intellectuals here who would be honored to help pull you through a strip of rough road...

If you are suffering a problem.. again, there are those who would be honored to do their best to assist your intellectual advancement, in areas you feel need a little fix...
Maybe you need to freshen up your telepathic abilities..?
Maybe you experienced a strange wondrous "psychic" phenomenon.. and you are hellbent on learning how to bring it back, and learning how to use it to enhance your life... You caught a little taste of the Occult.. and you want More!...
You know it's in you.. because it happened once... You might be in this forum, to find how to get a handle on your great ability, and start having some real fun with it....

The troubles start when we get a little newness dished out to us, which obsoletes some of the old data we have been accepting for many years...
Parts of us fight against the new stuff, while parts of us strives and fights to accept it...
This is where current and heat begins to generate within the mind.. and if not properly released into the cosmic toilet, flaming occurs.. and wars are fought.. for the short rushes, at the expense and demise of all these huge long delicious rushes...
Flame initially consumes its source host... One who is flaming others has burned up some of his base, while losing all of the sky...

Ideally we would dump the old stuff, and install the new stuff.. then try to live with it while it cures... But the trouble is "Where to dump the old stuff, and How?"..

A fighter, one who is a self made individual, will have one hell of a task trying to be civil while trying to jump into the new... It would feel like a civil war is going on inside the you... This is when you find an alternative to dumping all your poop on friends, and maybe try to dump it in private, like maybe in front of a mirror.. or write all your thoughts for a few days, before you do any retaliative posting that you might regret...

It's good to be someplace real...

I missed one thing in that post, which connects it to everything I've been yapping about in the past few years, in trying to open minds to a little reality...

...One of the integral keys.. probably the most crucial one, is that the Views ability maintained is the only way one has any control over the Occult, Immortality's Continuation, the Magics, and Life... It's the technique I adeared to while restarting my stopped heart... The moment it changes to an opinion is the moment the winner becomes the loser, in anything and everything... as clearly illustrated in those links... It was like I was a tree, surrounded by a small herd of wannabe reporters, all informing me that I have roots and leaves.. none with the slightest clue that roots need water, heat, and air.. and that roots are essentially a tree's head...
Those flamers gave me the same sense as when, at 25 I strutted down the halls of an RC high school, at lunch, dressed like I dress.. and the large reaction I got from the herds of baby girls, was "Ooh Macho!", sung like an intended sting and insult, while all their hormones throbbed a new dance...

This Views technique is exclusively how I managed to survive those seven over the line and back NDE's.. and solve them toward sorcery...

Views can be compared to "clean introspection".. which is why and how all the ancient great books got written... And is probably how and why god got invented... but this is probably on the line pushin' it, here in the community intro/info thread.. cuz it seems I'm on a permanent roll.. Once activated, seems there's no shutting it down... so I best put my sword back in its pen holder.. and go out to shovel some more snow off'n my stone walks...

It's good to be here among genius friends.. feels like real...

Ok, ive pm'd you about this, but I put it here aswell

You should make a frontpage with the "top10 threads" or "recent threads", anything of that sort, any examples of how it might look ?

www.starcraftdream.com (http://www.starcraftdream.com)

Also, when you click on things, it opens in a new screen/window and I find that very annoying, I dont know about you guys but, and also, the smileys, they are 2big/ugly =) you should use the same smileys they got on scd.com (starcraftdream.com) or something similiar to that

Thanks -.-

noted nK.CCC...thank you for the suggestion. I can't really see their icons without becoming a registered member there but I may do so anyway...

Well I am not around a great deal so please forgive me if I talk about something already discussed in terms of site related suggestions.

First, I know my way around forums so if any help is required I am willing :)

I think a lot can be done to improve the community feel of the place. Perhaps look at improving albums so that public albums are easily browsable my users. Improve user profiles in an attempt to make them more actively used and visited.

Add a "My Threads and Posts" link into the navbar or other obvious place.

The site search facility could be improved considerably.

Add a front portal page and a articles section for users to upload written material thereby producing a form of library. A book review area might work here also.

Think about providing a little more information about whos posting what, well there is a lot you could add :)

you're right. I personally haven't been around much because of school and work. Still, I spend a considerable amount of time online, and there is no reason I shouldn't stop by more often. I should make more of an effort.

thanks Ritual Kiss...you're a good poster and seem to have been posting long enough to have learned how not to step into a lot of unnecessary turds.

Nice to see you posting here again.

I agree about OF. The sad thing is, it isn't just random trolls causing problems. I popped in there recently to see if it changed any, and it hasn't. People who have been posting there for a while are discrediting opinions based on people's appearance. That's really unnecessary and doesn't get anyone anywhere special.

it's all a management problem mainly...I ought to know since I was a mod there for an embarrassing amount of time. doesn't matter to me personally but that whole scene is structured to encourage the worst kinds of petty arguments and personal attacks and stupid posturing on every level. Eventually the smart ones wise up and move on...it's not like there isn't anywhere else to go...

it's big but big isn't necessarily better in this game. eric isn't an occultist anyway...why he opted in that direction I'll never know. As near as I can tell he pretty much despises it all on a personal level and I can't recall even one post he ever offered up regarding occultism in the 4+ years I was there...

everything has its place though.

OF(f)!

:p

Why bother with something one cares nothing about? Typical human trait. Like keeping the same shit job for 20 years...

yeah, I don't know..maybe he just likes to watch...

personally I think occult sites should always be managed by people who at least give a shit about the subject matter...

that's life on the web I guess.

Actually it is the same in the workplace... almost all CEO's have never done the actual work at ground level. This makes it hard to earn respect, and no respect = silliness a la OF!

That is the KEY element.

I see this with my own venture as I - shall we say - eat and sleep in the same conditions as my troops!

For the record we should not mention OF anymore - if possible... but a lot of folks come here from there (which is fine) so it tends to pop up!

But why concern ourselves with the past?

I am not scolding anyone as I myself am guilty!

Eventually the smart ones wise up and move on...it's not like there isn't anywhere else to go..
I find it's very difficult to gauge, though.. because the smart ones do as you say on one hand, when they wish to learn.. but on the other hand when they wish to teach, they have to consider the size of audience, the scarcity of good information that audience may be receiving and so their need for good info, etc., etc.,.. so often I find all sorts of characters out of place on spiritual boards, creating interesting relationships and triangles....

m1thr0s

sure...but you can't really teach much of anything when the environment itself caters to stupidity...some...but eventually it gets to be too much for the few that actually have something to say.

when I was there I made it work primarily by bludgeoning trash at every possible opportunity and there was never any shortage of worthless heads to bust. So I got this reputation for being a major hardass but it eventually struck me as akin to being famous for squashing ducks or something...

and frankly, I have better ways to spend my time because the environment itself demanded this...it was the only way to maintain a certain balance, which was all on account of stupidity at the highest levels. If you play to the numbers you will always be bombarded with the ignorant...in this world they make up the largest pool by a substantial majority.

Here in this forum I just said to hell with that...I'd rather do a better job of screening people coming in and have to spend far less time slashing and burning my fields. It makes for a smaller pool but amounts to a much more vital seed.

I understand, I am not saying it is necessarily more or less virtuous to help by playing to the numbers.. it is a personal choice and there are many paths.. for instance, Christian folks might feel compelled more along missionary lines...
