Here is an article with a lot of pictures depicting the building of a temporary temple for a cult festival in honor of the deity Lakshmi.
It is in a small village named Hatkatchora in India.
This ritual is interesting as they use a bundle of rice stalks and a forked tree branch as a cult temple marker. A forked tree branch is a well known Goddess symbol, but what else does it symbolise? Could it also symbolise the serpent power?
at the end of the pictures click the 'back to main text' , to read about the ritual.
