Here's a link to a study about weightbearing exercise and genetic change. I've always suspected this was the case. I knew that increased growth hormone uptake from said workouts slowed the aging process and speed up healing, but I had no hard evidence on the genetic stuff.

Cool I like that dude's attitude. Lifting weights is fun, I did the gym thing for a while you know. Yoga is more interesting though to me right now because of what I learned from Kain's posts among other things.
It's funny - two years ago if I told anyone (other than my Seijuro buds) that you could alter your own DNA, people wouldn't believe me. But you can go right down into the cellular level and see and touch the stuff so there's hard evidence right there if you give it a try. You can even change your eye color this way.
Bardon also reccomended daily morning yoga exercises for health and longevity.
But you know, dancing at a goth-industrial club or rough sex is way more fun than hanging out a gym. So hard to find good clubs these days though.

Actually I think the combo of weight training AND yoga is the way to go...unless of course one is doing one of the more athletic/bodyweight bearing forms like Ashtanga.
I think the key here is seriously challenging the limits of the body in order to reap the hormonal/mitochondrial benefits.
