Thanks, N. I've needed to post some of these for a while... I'm just lazy... Y'know I've hardly done a drawing for 3 years?

Wow great images Anibis! I like the Gypsy Queen best, and then the Mayan style on the wake up face, the Ibis is not my fav when viewed in large format but it works incredibly well as avatar! You have a good aesthetic sense it means, shit the standard on this forum is high indeed, yay us!
Post more if you have them!

I am aware of the annoyance to be likened with someone else, since most artists -including myself - want to stand on their own feet... but I sensed - as a first impression - the same emotions as when I first laid my eyes on Austin Osmond Spare images, M.C. Escher or Aubrey Beardsley!
To me that is a good thing since that kind om empty esoteric occult void-ism is lacking in the artworld.

Nice Anibis, inspiring - your style seems somehow familiar, but unique still.
I've recently started drawing again... perhaps I'll get around to scanning and posting one day :)

Okay so I have just begun to return to drawing itself, and have begun to play with digital media. This is the first of my reasonably successful efforts:

Generally the 'eye' is always my experimental image... I havent yet tried much else that I am very satisfied with, but I like the possibilities painter offers. I also have a tarot deck coming along in Illustrator... much simpler imagery though.

looks hawkish...maybe the slant plus the enormous pupil...I like it though...I like the stark simplicity very much. That's an identifiable trademark if you can hold onto it...we usually see photographers aspiring to something like this. visual coining or something...very cool when you can nail it.
that one would look great framed...just the way it is I think...needs a funky signature and it's good to go...

Greetings -
Stuff is alright.
You may want to blunt some things and sharpen others...

Know what's scary, I TOTALLY know who Daniel Johnston is. That's really funny! You mentioned Spare, Escher, and Beardsley; all of whom I think influenced me (less Spare, cuz I never saw his work till like 5 years ago... Also Jim Woodring and of course, Bosch... My new stuff has a more Tankha-like feel to it... I have two pieces on the go and I'll post them when they're done. Thanks...

It seems like we share a love for the same kind of artists... that is always a great feeling!

Alex grey is also an inspiration, although my own work is unlikey to develop the level of anatomical realism that his has. Certainly I admire the comprehensive diagramatics he's produced, such as his 'Cosmic Christ', for example.

Great video! It's been a while since I've heard him. I used to love the song : 'Happy time' from the album 'Fun'... He's got this really powerful 'exposed' vibe to his innocence... Drives some folk crazy... Ever seen the movie 'Cube'? I really enjoyed it, especially the ending (I won't spoil it here), but all the Jaded people hated it; they coulnd't bare the notion that uncontrived innocence is the only thing that escapes the Maze... oh well... hope we can keep ours intact... Mucho Respecto:

It's been a while since I've heard him.
I saw him the other night... it was a short but lucid performance!
