Halt! Let the senses be drowned in the ecstasy of the fountain. The water flows from top to bottom and the music lifts upwards. Ah! One of the great riddles. How is it that the song can rise and the water fall when they are but aspects of a singular body? If you move from point A to point B you reposition the entire macrocosm in relation to yourself. So also with your mind. The water flows ever into the firmament but it does not change its root. Rather it just extends itself from its hidden source to the point where the water rests. There is no end. And what of the music? The tune still rings in your ears and the intensity does not lessen. No matter if you stand in the streets of London or the infernal abyss of Hades, the volume does not shift. This is because the music began at the external manifestation of the water and does not cease until its melody reaches your ear. In your function of hearing it remains. There is no beginning, just an end. The fountain remains the same, it is beyond change. The sound and flow together are the supremacy of the Limitless Light.
The hawk lands in the fountain. It bathes its head in the water. The hawk has flown from the heights of the heavens to the material earth, and Lo! the hawk never strays from its home. There is no force that can take its place. It can always return to the fount. So it is with the higher aspect of man. It never wanders far from the fountain that is the source of the divine music. The hawk is the last bird. Not because it is the last created, no, the hawk was first. It is last because when all other birds have flown away the hawk will always return to the fountain. The hawk is God and the fountain is the Light. The hawk cannot exist without the fountain because the fountain is its source. The fountain cannot exist without the hawk because without it there is no means of perception. Be it known that the source and its extension are the same.
