The Elements

I know there are a handfull of different schools that of course regard the elements in their own fashion -

wind, water, fire, metal, earth, wood, ether

that sort of thing

I'm curious about your own individual appreciations/logicks of "da elementz" and how you work with them...

ie: what is your understanding of fire as an elemental force/symbol...

Hey bro - I started doing DNA scrying about 10 years ago, and I'm not sure how it works but of course it has been my main interest since it holds the keys for everything from changing your eye color to eternal life. DNA I think harmonizes according to the higher bodies of light as the Emerald Tablet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald_Tablet) shows us and it all just comes down to "like attracts like" which can be used for anything from making meteorites crash into planets or to cause tiny proteins to rearrange themselves. As simple as that sounds it's a mind boggling topic and is really more intimidating than any other sort of playground magick you have floating around out there, sigils, demons and even herbology (Though that makes use of the DNA of other species, doesn't it, so perhaps not...)

At the moment I can't even begin to grasp how to master this kind of power but it is in fact one of the core schools that is going to be offered to humanity in the future if they choose to survive. I don't mean offered by god or aliens or any stupid crap like that, but offered through humans surviving this long - I suppose we should congratulate ourselves. I don't really care either way, planetside we've already seen six mass extinctions, (we're living the sixth, fun isn't it?) the earth will go on, and we'll be left with a different form of life.

Imagine the possibility that the raw unfiltered Absolute (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_%28philosophy%29) can actually deconstruct human bodies by simply refusing to grant cohesiveness to DNA, or the full uncontained power Shakti can refuse to rise. Perhaps that's what's already been happening in regards to cancer and other warning diseases.

lol - this is what's going to happen as the old Brahman creation basically gets reduced more and more to total scrap and thrown in the Naraka (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naraka) recycling bin - we meet the faces of Absolute (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_Infinite) and Shakti (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakti) reality behind the masks. So there's this awkward time where humanity is just lying there exposed to bleeding raw reality as the new Brahma principle is rebuilt from the ground up through the machinations of Absolute-Shakti. ("siva"-sakti) In Hinduism symbologically we see this as end of the Koli Yug (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali_Yug) at the hands of Lord Kalki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalki). It's not written who comes after Lord Kalki though...and he's already returned and done his job so, hmmmmm. :dull:

But yeah I view the elements as something that manifests from the Absolute - the four pillars of Hermeticism. My interest in DNA is closely tied to the four pillars so that's why I added this little tangent...

Fire and Water, being the most essential, then Air as the unifier- communicater and Earth as the combination of Fire, Water, Air and Akasha, the "fifth" element of magic, also referred to as void in some modern Chaos circles. I hold to the Eastern concept of Void however, as in the raw Absolute. Akasha is more akin to Shakti, I think....

I kinda view them as elemental ingredients.. like a particular chi's character might be sort of devised of it's particualar element mixtureee

Ah yes it is a very broad subject with many complex variances, for instance, chemistry and the periodic table of elements arises as a product from the four pillars + akasha.

there's a tiny little book I'd like to recommend to people just trying to get the general overview on the 4/5 western elemental system compiled by Manly P Hall, called "Astrological Keywords (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0893148377?tag=abrahadabraco-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=0893148377&adid=1SFFGF66J6GTY9FE5Y58&)". While it's true that it covers a lot of ground with this specific topic, it also does a remarkable job of detailing a lot of basic information on the Tatvas system itself...

I'm still looking for a pdf version but have not thus far found any...

Elements
1. Earth - instinct
2. Water - emotion
3. Fire - freedom to act
4. Air - devotion
5. Life - expression
6. Time - intuition
7. Space - connection with the divine (i.e. Universal Mind/Force)

These 7 elements correspond also to areas in the body, like so:

1. The root where the location of the genetic code lies coiled up in the sperm/ovum.
2. The testis and the ovaries.
3. Solar plexus
4. The thymus
5. The thyroid
6. Pineal gland
7. The pituitary gland

(depending on my mood 6 and 7 can switch places)

Of course this is how I view the Elements, doesn't mean it is the Law... but makes sense to me! And I have been known to change my mind if I hear something better... :p

I did once, years ago, read a book that belonged to a friend. I can't recall the name, but what it said was interesting. It talked about the elements of food. For instance wheat is a fire food and rice is a water food. This means that in the summer time, when it's hot, you should it rice - and in winter you need fire food i.e. wheat!

Here's my core foundation on Void, I always return to this text since I first acquired its wisdom 14 years ago. Juggling all of these different disciplines is rewarding at times but it certainly is necessary to hold onto some good bases.

"The Ni To Ichi Way of strategy is recorded in this the Book of the Void.

What is called the spirit of the void is where there is nothing. It is not included in man's knowledge. Of course the void is nothingness. By knowing things that exist, you can know that which does not exist. That is the void.

People in this world look at things mistakenly, and think that what they do not understand must be the void. This is not the true void. It is bewilderment.

Then you will come to think of things in a wide sense and, taking the void as the Way, you will see the Way as void.
