This is probably old news to some of you, but there's this virtual world called Second Life where people can meet up and hold events. It's free as well.

I've heard of this myself, although never actually tried it. I hadn't realized Sweden had an actual embassy there...interesting. Thanks Ci Celli Ddu!

I'm on actually. Haven't spent that much time with it, but my understanding is you can actually program things there and sell them: virtual objects... you can buy stuff too, so it's possible to have a virtual marketplace, and some people even make a living at it.... An Abrahadabra temple would be awesome, I think...

Ive only just discovered the place myself, but Im familiar with this kind of thing from having played Star Wars Galaxies.

The people behind these kind of virtual worlds see the internet in general progressing to a 3D format of this kind. Apart from the inworld virtual market businesses in the real world also use it to showcase their products.
