Note: note sure where this goes, as it can go in many places (feel free to move at will)...

Comte de Saint Germain is a mystery in itself and one to fall in love with. A full bio of him is essential, but there are plenty all over the web. I will add links to some at the end of this post. Let's start with an introduction by the Russian writer Aleksandr Pushkin (1799-1837) who mentions Saint Germain in his short story The Queen of Spades (1834):"You have heard of Count St. Germain, about whom so many marvelous stories are told. You know that he represented himself as the Wandering Jew, as the discoverer of the elixir of life, of the philosopher's stone, and so forth. Some laughed at him as a charlatan; but Casanova, in his memoirs, says that he was a spy. But be that as it may, St. Germain, in spite of the mystery surrounding him, was a very fascinating person, and was much sought after in the best circles of society. Even to this day my grandmother retains an affectionate recollection of him, and becomes quite angry if anyone speaks disrespectfully of him."

There are many men/women that have been believed to have gained immortality. One is the Wonderman, Saint Germain, who was an adventurer, an alchemist and a diplomat. His main position in history is during the 18th century and there are many tales spun about and around him. One of great interest is that he is said to have possessed the Elixir of Life.

Although Comte de Saint Germain never ate or drank in public he had a very strict diet of oatmeal, groats and the white meat of chicken. He had a recipe of a purge made of senna pods and on rare occasions would have some wine. He took great precautions to minimize the wear and tear of the body always trying to avoid getting a cold. When he slept he allegedly stopped the mechanism of the human clock. The physical decay that occurs unknowingly within the body, like the free radicals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_radical), was known by him in some form.

It is in this subject I think Saint Germain is most valid when discussing about the Art. Sure Cagliostro gives him bad rep, but even Cagliostro had his moments. Besides if you keep a valet called Roger it must be true, because if you are going to invent a myth surely you could think of a better name than that?

There are two books I recommend you read:

I don't see there being any real mystery about St Germain, other than what his true identity may have been. What would interest me would be to know of any other characters that supposedly keep popping up in different time periods. Apart from the bloke in the blue telephone box, that is.

Nicholas Flamel and his wife, Dee, Cagliostro are some... but it is of course myth!

It's not the mystery of the Count that interest me, it is his way of life!

Never heard of that old Welsh Londoner Dee making any reappearences. Way of life? Im sure you could bump into similarly eccentric people in Christiania (http://www.christiania.org/). I certainly did.

I practically lived there for three years so I know...

My friend got a theory that Bowie is Saint Germain... it is fucked up and interesting!

Bowie has that effect on a lot of people. Maybe it's a generational thing. But who knows, maybe in a hundred years time people will be claiming to have seen him.

Sketches are to be found here and there from various writers, mostly antagonistic, but no coherent detailed account of his life has yet appeared. This is very largely owing to the fact that the most interesting and important work, done by M. de St. Germain, lies buried in the secret archives of many princely and noble families. THE COMTE DE ST. GERMAIN (http://www.sacred-texts.com/sro/csg/csg02.htm)

Now I wonder where they are kept?

And wh@ an inspiring cover!

It is hard to say. One thing, though, is that St Germain carried with him secret manuscripts that belonged to the secret vaults of the vatican. Perhaps the vatican itself contains some facts of interest, if one was ever allowed into its inner sanctum.

I wish we could remote viewing assault the Vatican secret library with a team of remote viewer so we finally learn what knowledge they are hiding from people. Although Faraday boxes might be a problem...
Oh, and I believe Seb is St Germain lol:laugh:

Didn't you hear, they cleared out all the Vatican Vaults a few years ago...

The interwebs rendered them obsolete... :(

The new pope has installed a bowling alley and a lap pool in the old space...
