Does marijuana break down your ability to funciton throughout the day if it is partaken of in the early day? I think that the "wake and bake" gets ya. Any grabbers?

yes it dous...

it makes u sleepy and not willing to focus on anything (atleast me)

everyother day i smoke weed before i go into the school, infront of school at about 7:30 to 8 o clock in the morning (most common starting hours) and it really gets to me, ill feel it the whole day, and the whole day im a bit broken and buzzed, although i do have to say, most of the times i keep on smoking into the afternoon when we get our breaks of school..

Ahh.. gotta love coffeeshops at a <50m proximity of your school, walk 5 minutes and get some weed haha.

Though theyre trying to close the coffeeshops around schools, not so nice.

Most of the time this would seem to be true. But there are some interesting exceptions to this. People who take marijuanna medicinally to offset pain or other ailments don't get that affect at all apparently. So it seems to vary case by case.

If you got drunk every day first thing you'd have some serious focusing issues as well. In general, doping yourself up before breakfast is not the smartest damn gameplan in town...

Well, it is a good gameplan if you want to end up living up in your parents' basement at age of 36 and have no future... But yeah, I agree. Wake and bake stays with you all day and keeps you mellow. Now, the bad part of that is: it stays with you all day and keeps you mellow! The times that I used to do it everyday was when I did landscaping and had to be out in the summer sun 10hrs a day 6 days a week and had no hope for the future other than getting to the bar after work. Those were some of the most depressing moments in my life and I advise anyone who hasn't been there to never go there. That is all. Peace.

Uh yes, definately. I'm not sure marijuana is the best course of action for budo and that's all I'm really interested at the end of the day.

So if it's not getting me to the destination I'm like - why bother?

Usually. Usually. There are huge temptations amuck all around me.

Like diet coke for instance, or loose threads....

Like everything else, it really has to do with how the marijuana affects you personally, and the genetics of the particular marijuana you are smoking. Like m1thr0s noted, medicinal users of marijuana usually do not suffer from those affects. Marijuana is not a depressant. Actually, there are strains of marijuana you can smoke that will make you wide awake. A good friend of mine is the head of the geology department in a rather well known school (leaving out names) and well, while where we live medicinal marijuana is not legal, he uses his 'medicinally'. For years he has been high teaching geology and no one has ever noticed. I personally have an affinity towards the beautiful flower we know as marijuana, and well, that's my breakfast. It's 2:41 in the afternoon, I've only drank water, but I've smoked at least 3 grams since I woke up. (Including a solid gram during my premeditation exercise prior to meditation and taking a shower.) I get plenty of work done. It's all about the state of mind you keep. Just don't let it cloud up.

When I smoked-up in high school, I would end up skipping classes. These days when I smoke it, it's on holidays or at the end of the day on a day off. I go to work to work, and marijuana would make the day go by longer, and I wouldn't get anything done. It's not worth it. It's fun and all, and if you can will yourself to focus on it, it could result in willed hallucinations and other fun experiments, or you can listen to music, watch trippy movies, etc. But if you have shit to do, it's better to focus on that and then smoke up afterwards.

Then again, I used to know some hard working people who smoked a joint at least once a day, and there work wasn't effected. They said they felt more focused on it. So I guess it's up to you to figure out how it effects you personally.

By the way, it is possible to create the effects of getting high without actually taking the drugs. For example, you can will a release of serotonin in the brain, so it will feel like your on Extacy. I like to do that if I'm at work and am bored or feel drained, and work won't suffer for it. In fact, I'll get more done. It's not as powerful as taking the drug (at least for me at this point) but it's a fun experiment, and is good to know in the long run, especially if you find yourself prone to depression.

It all depends on the person. As for me I think the first J of the Day is the best... outside, when the sun is rising sets you in a nice mood for the rest of the day...

I never had a problem, and I am a hard working person... in fact I often get promoted (whatever that means). But it is worth noting that there is a difference in smoking a joint and getting fucked on a strong ass skunk-blunt! You got to know what you can take...

I've done more drugs when I was at work than when I was at home. I was introduced to coke, heroin, DXM and oxycontin... I felt at work that I was invincible. I was only 23 years old, a manager of shipping and on more drugs than a sailor... I personally repent for my behavior other than the Oxycontins... I would give my left nut for them!! After I took those pills I would give my right one!!! Message: Never take heroin or Oxycontin!!! Peace.

Sincerely,
Luke Saint

PS
After you take one hit of heroin or take one pill of Oxycontin you will take them more often. DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I invoke the devil... Ha! But I'd rather eat dirt and eat my own shit than eat those pills....... Trust me, if you wanna die do them!! If not, talk shit on me.... Peace out~

Thanks. It doesn't really bother me too much either, I just feel that when I post immature bullshit like that it is a waste of time and space and that my efforts could be funneled into more productive activities.

Yeah, like emptying out some of this stuff in my brain into writing. There's a lot in my head, but it's like a warehouse; all cluttered and dusty. My problem is that I don't want to begin a project that I'm not sure I can finish so I just never begin. After reading a post by M1thr0s a day or so ago I have become fascinated by Gematria. Before, I pretty much loathed reading any instruction or explanation of the topic. Now I'm fervently studying the subject and I love it. I will devote 2 hours a day, 7 days a week to the study (IF I feel the need to limit it to that). I have a ways to go, right now I'm memorizing the shapes and numerical values of the Hebrew letters. I know the names from my past dabblings in Qabalah.

Sincerely,
Random's Muse

PS Man, is it long in here or is it just my response?

hmm. I remember telling my psychologist "You have a very well organized mind." she took this as a supreme compliment. psychologists know everyday what a huge mess the mind can make of their lives so they tend to run a pretty tight ship so to speak. I do too, but the internet is the internet...and I have a mess area set aside in my brain for creative projects, it took a long time to build it so i value my chaos....

gematria rocks if you take the time to learn it from numerous points of view. People should expect to commit a few years to the study to get reasonably proficient and go through maybe a dozen authors or more...the thing is, you need to understand the underscoring principles that make it all worthwhile or it's just another memorization thing and its value will be very limited...

You can usually be up and running within a week of any good study guide but it takes some years to really develop any kind of professional grade overview...

and just as they say with the study of tarot...you should set your goal to ultimately designing a system of your own, once you've assimilated enough principles that you are confident of doing this. That doesn't mean you'll always use your own system in every situation...it's just another step in the learning process in general.

like your own *master's thesis* etc...

I figured as much. At first glance it doesn't really appear that difficult: read the letters, know the numbers, etc. But as you say, Gematria isn't like some party trick that you can learn in a couple of days to impress your friends, it is a serious endeavor needing years of fervent study and application to harvest the whole fruits. M1thr0s, as always, thanks for the wisdom and advice.

PS
Besides 777, are there any other really standout books on the topic?

As been said over and over allready, it is actually really individual. But as with most things, I think that theres alot of other criterias to that determine how it will affect you. For instance, the quality of the stuff alone gives you a different high.
Personally, I cant bake as soon as I get up anymore, because Ive unfortunately turned the art of "morning baking" into an addiction.
It happens far too easy when you have a bong, you need so much less, to get you much more stoned. and when youve been doing it daily from sunrise to sunset for a couple of years, it tends to get out of hands real quick..
I remember the times when I could pass when I met friends outside tokin, nowadays Im happy if I dont crave the damn thing every waking hour.
But Im currently working out all the ego->desire troubles, everyday now I feel the need to bring out the bong less and less. the feeling is empowering as hell!
Its all about your mindset I think.. but smoking ~30-50 bongs a day starting with 3-in-a-row as soon as you wake up isnt worth all the things I loose in the long run.. like my motivation to do ANYTHING besides Smoking, Lying in bed & Watching movies/tv-series 24/7. Cant even get any reading done, even sitting up in front of the computer is a freaking drag.

Oh yeah, just like Luke said, watch out for the Oxycontins! MAN, they where the first Real opiates that actually gave me physical withdrawal symptoms, had to find me some more just so I could withdraw from it. the first time opiates freaked me out. First time I got O.C was at the hospital when I hurt my back, I was so gone on 1 40mg pill, I didnt even know where I was. when the nurses came in and asked what food I wanted for the next day (the choice was some Fish and something else) I answered that Id wanted the Cats Piss :D (I think the Fish made me think of Cats or sumthing...)
Havent touched the big H, heroin yet. Dont think I need to either, according to bluelight forums, its like 50-50 of which is better to shoot up. They say O.C dont make you as tired as H does.. But I wouldnt know..
Ive never punctured my lovely veins and I never will!
Opiates work fine the oral way, or up the nose ;)

Virgin veins is the way eternal being meant for you to be. Don't ever loose you vein virginity to heroin. Heroin is, without a single grain of doubt, the SECOND greatest experience possible by spiritually ignorant human beings. That is it, if anyone argues this fact they've never ridden the Horse. I've not been in the stables for over two years and I still wanna go in the rodeo, but at least it's no big problem now. I will now write about heroin.

Heroin:
It is the greatest DRUG in the world. It is good for easing: pain, hesitation, inhibition, pain and humanity. No fear, little girl, "you are the buttercup in the river", and down you float...

Stick a double barrel shotgun in your head and let a child with ADD play with the trigger... That is about one third as dangerous as heroin. Cocaine makes heroin better though!!! Oh, yeah!!! You will stay awake for the sophorific effects of the heroin and be hyper. Your poisoned body will be able to move... you'll look normal!!! Speedball it's called. Great mix! I've never done it but every person I've known who's done it has dropped dead... If that's your trip then do coke and heroin. That's my experience and knowledge, do with it what...

Yeah I love opiates far to much as it is. If id take the little horsie out for a ride I know Id want to do it again and again, ad infinitum. Its enough thinking about opiates daily as it is..
So I keep away from it as best as I can, fortunately all the people who usually could get some for me is locked up now. So if I want some I have to try real hard to get it, and I dont actually Need it anyway..
Im good with my bong and my rum for now ;)

Yeah, to quote Layne Staley:
"So an infection, not a phase."
If you get the love for them, one time, opiates kind of stick around inside your head for God knows how long. There was a good report posted on Erowid recently, well, the title was good anyway.

Opening The Unclosable Doors (http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=50739)

Nothing like that taste of H going up your nostrils (or dripping down your throat)... You can always put a dagger in your stomach, but that's for the more iron constitutioned people...

You know, that's funny. You say that your 'peeps' got locked up and so you can't get more if you wanted, that's how I 'quit'. I just couldn't get it anymore, and by the time I could get it I was confident enough in my willpower and thus could refuse. Thanks for sharing.

i got a lot of really good art done in that two year period..i had just got my SSA check to pay my rent and subsidised rent so i had a nice apt in a semi-decent neighborhood.

i watched american ganster for the first time last nite and it freaked me out..watching the scenes where they inject heroin..that was a tough one for me..

Did you smoke it? (the H)

I've only done opium once, and I was too trashed to really know the effects from it alone (beer & pot). It was Jan '06, New Years Eve, around 1:00am(EST) and two lady friends of mine were smoking it on my friend's stove (god did he throw them out!! : () Opiates are just too good, that's the problem. I guarantee that the chemical reaction that heroin afronts to the brain would supercede any serious chemical construct of the gnostic or meditator. Just a thought.
