This is an unpleasant announcement. We have lost a number of popular threads due to a moderating accident and I am not at all confident that they can be restored. This was not intentional on anyone's part but still should not have happened. The threads which have been inadvertently hard deleted are:

07 Poetry - Luke Saint

Abrahadabra - Luke Saint

Lyrics that move you - feranaja

Art and Magick, Images that inspire you - Naomichan

Harry Potter and the Ordr of the Phoenix - Naomichan

The scent of roses and jasmine - NC

Worship of the Dead - Dark Lion

Shakthi Worship in Tamilnadu India - m. Namasivayam

Ayahuasca trip - deviadah

Dark Intellect- m1thr0s

Po-Lice - deviadah

Here I go to Dreamtime 2007 - Silent John

eudaimonology aka "how to be happy" - Kuroyagi

The names at the end only indicate the last person who posted...not the authors. I have no other information at this time. I am simply letting people know that these threads were deleted and may not be recoverable.

We (supposedly) run daily backups here but I do not run these myself so I need to try to contact the person who does handle this. There is a slight chance we can still recover these but I am not feeling confident of this at present.

I am sorry to have to report this. I realize that a few of these threads were quite popular. I cannot overlook the fact that this sort of accident should not have occured under any circumstances and have taken steps to prevent it from happening again.

I will need a couple of days to determine if we do indeed run daily backups as has been reported to me in the past. If these are not being done as stated then I will need to arrange some other way to insure that they are in fact being done every day.

Sorry folks...nobody meant this to occur but it shouldn't have happened and there's really no getting around that. All we can do from here is try to prevent it from happening again.

I'll keep you posted on the results of my tech-support inquiries but I am almost certain these threads are simply gone.

You know you could clear everything except the Abrahadabra folder every seven months or so....except for the good topics.

Even better instead of a Post Reply button we could have a Delete button, and our post count should be able to go minus, like -230 posts.

It doesnt matter:
What has been destroyed belongs to a god. No one is able to take it away.http://etcsl.orinst.ox.ac.uk/cgi-bin/etcsl.cgi?text=t.6.1.01#

Intentional or not it befits the forum that its mutating faster than any I have seen...;)

That would explain why the number of my posts dropped by at least ten. Ah well, at least it wasn't a change in timelines.

Thanks to archive.org's "Way Back Machine" , anything written before May 21 can be recovered, as they have been frozen in time. See: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://forums.abrahadabra.com . That's the first time I've ever found a practical use for that thingy.
