Enhanced Psychic Abilities During Sleep/Awake time

I've been studying my thought processes during the tricky time where you are just starting to fall into sleep but not quite asleep. It's a trance state and difficult to maintain without falling completely asleep.

Anyways, as I was maintaining meditation I heard this really clear distinct guy's voice I don't recognize say "Naomi" just kinda casually but almost with a sense of humor like "Hey come over here." or something. Anyways I ended up...falling asleep and having dreams where it felt like someone was trying to keep me somewhere. Like in a certain place.

It was startling because I don't usually hear voices that clearly, even though it was still apparent it was coming from the higher realms and not the physical, it was really cool.

After I did some more research into it my divination tells me it was a divinity I was researching on occult forums under the Mithras mysteries where I was studying the deities Aion/Aevum, Zervan, at the following address: (http://www.farvardyn.com/mithras5.php) and specifically my tarot readings tell me it was not Mithras or Aion but Zervan. I narrowed this down repeatedly from everyone I know online and offline so I am pretty certain I am correct about this and I even repeated the question several times.

So anyways this is weird, yet another god I know nothing about suddenly decides to say hi out of nowhere, and these all seem the same to me so I have no clue at all what the differences are between Mithras, Zervan and all of these other Mithraic thingies. It's all really mysterious.

Does anyone know about Zervan?

Hmm well after I woke up. After the first ten minutes, a really major thunderstorm showed up outside. There's cloud to ground lightning. I'm thinking this is somehow connected.

This seriously doesn't make any sense at all. Why the hell is this Mithras deity bothering me at all when from what I'm seeing women were not only not admitted to the cult it's like there was this taboo against it, like something bad would happen.

I mean I don't care. It wouldn't bother me at all if it wern't for the fact the entity keeps interupting my life with requests for this or that.

Another weird thing is I actually understand the symbolism behind all of this and I even have a good idea of why things were done a certain way.

The only connection I can find in my life is in Spring 2006 under the auspices of Seijuro my group and I slew Ares, macrocosmically, who is the Roman god of war.

We slew him because we hated him for serving Venus (even though we promote Temple of Venus stuff.)

My guess is there were women involved in the cult and over time but this was hidden purposefully but by who, and why?

For instance, it says here that a husband and wife team worked on one of the Mithras statues but her name was erased off of the slab. Hmm.

I myself don't have a problem with a male only cult, but it doesn't make sense.

So weird. Really weird. If nobody knows it's also worth mentioning the female hyena is one of the few animals with a pseudo-penis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudo-penis). (I've actually known about that little interesting fact for like 10 years.)

I know I'm probably talking to myself at this point because this topic is so far out but maybe there's an odd chance someone will have some ideas on what exactly is going on. I should have probably posted this to the Mithraic thread but oh well.

Well, sticking to the title of the thread, it seems that information does manifest itself in a stronger way when we are in an incomplete dreamstate. For example, things like toothache or sleeping outdoors or in the semi-outdoors (in other words: sleeping with discomfort) produces very lucid and symbolically loaded dreams or visions that, amongst other things, involve remarkable communicative interaction with entities within the dreamstate. The remarkable aspect is not so much what is communicated but rather the fact that one can actually remember the effort involved in communicating and the articulation of thought.

I have also heard that Zervan controlls/constructed all the ways that lead to/over the so called Cinvat bridge that leads to the netherworld.

That Mithras thing is a real mystery to me, too. If the bull were only female, then one could draw a parallel to fertility cults around the world (buffalo woman etc., cause then the man would kill it/be killed or wedded to it and thereby would perpetuate the course of nature and thereby the blood being of women would only be required by men)...but its not. Ulansey has some good stuff going but I must say that its not all that rosy either,this is just a feeling but reading his essay I felt at least at two places disturbed: somehow he wanted to "proove" it too much even in front of himself...anyway, its an interesting mystery; if you learn something new please post (or ask our friend Seb hes incredibly creative with these things...)

Yes Ci I have noticed with some curiosity that for the first few weeks of establishing a link to Mithras I was asked to keep my window open, it's on the second story and overlooks a row of altheas which are in full bloom all summer. I definately feel a strong connection when I am in my garden.

When I first moved into the city 8 years ago away from large forests I felt like I was dying - like, I was losing my magick, and I told people so. I think it was just another opportunity and lesson for me to get used to working with sky energy instead of simply earth energy.

When I sleep outside on occasion I always awake a little sleepy and maybe a little feral too...

Yes, not to get too into it in this thread but I drew a correlation between Yama, the lord of death and the bull.
