In a whimsy of magic, I was animatedly reading aloud comic book Promethea #12 "The Magical Theatre", and was getting pretty inspired, imagining myself telling the story with black and white chords as my puppets to others who wished to know the path. I was having so much fun with the rhyming verse that I decided to do another run, and at one point came to a detour whereby my imagination conjured up this little ditty:
THIS YOUNG MAGE
This young mage he plays one
Ringing out holy union
With a mic-mac interplay give a mage a wand
Within corresponds to that beyond
This young mage he plays two
dark and light, changes anew
With a mic-mac interplay give a mage a wand
Within corresponds to that beyond
This young mage he plays three
Forms the holy trinity
With a mic-mac interplay give a mage a wand
Within corresponds to that beyond
This young mage he plays four
Building elemental core(pse)
With a mic-mac interplay give a mage a wand
Within corresponds to that beyond
This young mage he plays five
Pentacle, spirits alive
With a mic-mac interplay give a mage a wand
Within corresponds to that beyond
This young mage he plays six
In a round spheres are transfixed
This young mage he plays seven
Whirling bodies in our heaven
With a mic-mac interplay give a mage a wand
Within corresponds to that beyond
This young mage he plays eight
We forever lemniscate
With a mic-mac interplay give a mage a wand
Within corresponds to that beyond
This young mage he plays nine
Trinity squared within moonshine
With a mic-mac interplay give a mage a wand
Within corresponds to that beyond
So, if you haven't read the comic book, the one thing you should know is "mic-mac" stands for "microcosm-macrocoms". I'm considering adding this one to my performance act, so I thought I'd see how it meets you folk. Feel free to compliment it with alternate verses. I love cultural remixing :)

Ok, well, I'll let that one die for now... it occurs to me that many things that are entertaining to me are not so to others.
How about this one, the Mike-Mack Story (a work in progress): http://cubeball.pbwiki.com/MickMackStory?full_access=HsbrRL64aD&l=S. I welcome your honest feedback on this one as well; you can comment inside the wiki or here. Quite frankly, I don't want to get to carried away with these works if not even mages can appreciate them :o_O:

Hm. There's talent there, without a doubt...

Maybe you are a bit too pushy with your stuff? Unquellable 'cheer' usually looks like its covering something up, truth be told...

I dig the mic/mac dialog...
I just had my 2 thespians (ages 7&9, but
essentially M/F twins born 2 years apart ;))
read it aloud and they liked the flow...
And because of their constant brainwashing,
they picked up on alot of your verbal polarplay...

Yeah... too much history. Like the cleverness, though. Promethea sure is an inspirational piece of literature, and that issue in particular is brilliant. I hope you do produce that puppet show. Do you have any photos of your acts?

That means a lot coming from a star like you. The understanding in formation, so I'm starting to get a sense of how much is too much. And all this feedback helps lots, so thanks all.
There's a place in my act for some scarier faces too....speaking of hiding... one thing that's scary to face is that I spent a whole winter years ago developing a puppet play about vultures which I never ended up producing; I lost the disk that I typed up the script on and never had the heart to return to it, partly because the story was so weak (though the theme had some merit). In that project, my enthousiasm towards it was partly an attempt to gloss over certain insecurities, so in essence your perspective has truth to it Anibis.
This project feels different; I can really see a place for it, wheras in my aforementioned efforts, it was all an escapist fantasy. I am certain that I will produce this show, and when it's ready, I intend to make a video of it along with the other bits. So, you'll have to stay tuned...

Thanks for giving the script a test run MM, glad that you're making use of my playings. Hmm, I feel the need for some more extended dialogue on how to present spiritual messages to kids. If anyone can offer any guiding principles or examples, that would be helpful. Particularly, I want to steer clear of dogmatization, but something tells me you use the term "brainwashing" in good humor. I don't have any problem with cleaning children's heads; that's what my feather duster is for

So, recently I presented my Platonic Solids mobile to a bunch of kids at Pagan Pride Day. I used it as a tool to have a discussion about the five elements. I was surprised at how many of the kids didn't know a thing about the elements even though their parents were pagans. It made me wonder why they didn't know; were their parents intentionally guarding them from their beliefs systems, or were they just not making them time to do so.
So, the kids were "clueless" yet, when I asked them to guess which shape was which element, they managed to guess right every time; I was impressed. This experience with the youth enforced the belief that my model was a great educational tool, so I decided to make the models more accessible by making a printable pdf of the shapes so that anyone can print them off and fold them up into 3D shapes. Clearly it's not at publication status yet, but I thought I'd share with you folks the images. To get it, visit here http://playful-geometer.deviantart.com/art/Platonic-Solids-Foldables-66107956 and then click on Download.

Your polyhedra nets look great,
when I get some time I'll make a set...
Are they 'to scale' with each other in any way...?

I tried to make them roughly the same height if they were hanging from one of their corners, but truth be told, I didn't bother to "do the math" to figure out how to make them exactly equal.

Whoo hoo, I just figured out yesterday that I can now play The Fools Errand (http://www.fools-errand.com/01-the-fools-errand/) on my Linux system. Anibis first introduced me to this game many years ago, but at the time, my OS was inhibiting me from playing it. This occurs to me as a great way to introduce kids to tarot archetypes. The sequel (http://www.thefoolandhismoney.com/05-the-fool-and-his-money/index.htm) is supposed to coming out soon.... so keep twiddling those thumbs
