Hello everyone.
I found a link to this forum and since I saw a few friendly faces and this forum deals with a subject of major interest for me I thought I'd come over and play.

Coolbeans Rejected...nice to have you onboard. I see you hail from Georgia? Do you happen to know Danisty by any chance? She's from Georgia too...

In any case, glad you found this place and hope your stay here is a good one.

I know her through other forums, but that’s about it.

I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with the OTO or Golden Dawn. The concept has intrigued me for a long time and I wish to learn more but for someone with relatively no experience with esoteric work it’s a little overwhelming.

I was in the Order many years ago (OTO) and have studied Golden Dawn materials fairly extensively. Both can be contacted via the Internet and have extensive websites.

Here's the OTO Grand Lodge (http://oto-usa.org/) website

And here is the Golden Dawn (http://www.hermeticgoldendawn.org/index.shtml) homesite

Both butt-ugly sites for my money but useful contact and information links...

good luck,

I'm a current OTO member, practice in the thelmic current, and have studied and practiced GD material. Happy to discuss such matters!

Welcome to the forum Rejected! It looks like you might have found the right place given your interests.

Where in the 9th circle of hell are you? I'm in Savannah.

Thank you for the welcome everyone.

Danisty I’m from Albany, if you know where that is.

Concerning the OTO, the closest operating body is the Dove and Serpent Oasis in Atlanta, GA which is about a 3.5 hour drive from where I live.

I was wondering what materials would be a good starting point for a parallel independent following of the thelemic system.

Is it something that could be grasped by an inexperienced person or is formal guidance necessary?
