Greetings. First post. The following is a brief synopsis of my current magical project. It is a modification of the traditional LBRP intended for Left-Hand Path occult-philosophers. I welcome any constructive and well thought out feedback from all serious LHP or RHP practitioners who feel so inclined. I would also like to formally acknowledge my debt and gratitude to the Temple of Set for some of the concepts employed herein.
"A Ritual of the Pentagram for followers of the Sinister Way"
1. Moment of silence.
2. With forefinger or dagger trace an inverted pentagram. Without lowering arm make sign of the enterer while vibrating “Xeper. Xepera. Xeperu.” Imagine the kundalini energy rising from the base of the spine. Repeat in each quadrant.
3. Recite the following psychecentric collect or prepare something equally appropriate:
“Before me the way of willed separation; Let all that is work towards the
cultivation of my being! Behind me lay shattered the forces of stasis and inertia; It
is my duty to oppose all that would seek my destruction. At my left hand the
burden that comes with freedom, and at my right the gifts of reason, wisdom, and
the will to power. I am a dark flame eternally burning, Let all beings be
illuminated by my presence or stand ashamed!”
4. Moment of silence.
Personal Notes:
∑ I removed the Cabbalist Cross due to its quasi Judeo-Christian reference to the Lord’s Prayer and its Cabbalistic connotation.
∑ The moment of silence is utilized to focus one’s mind as well as serve as a sign of the celebrant’s emergence as a conscious entity ex nihilo.
∑ For now, I have removed references to the cardinal directions from the ritual in order to place primary emphasis on the individual’s subjective relation to the objective universe and how he or she is a force affecting it rather than vice versa.
∑ The orientation of the pentagrams to be traced is inverted. "It is portrayed inverse to imply change and movement in place of stasis and rest, and also to proclaim the revolutionary dialectic of thesis contrasted with antithesis to produce synthesis instead of a foreordained and unavoidable absolute standard."(1)
∑ The sign of the enterer is employed due to the correlation that exists between vigorous physical motion and the induction of catharsis. In the context of this ritual, the willed experience of catharsis serves the function of purging emotional and mental tension so as to create an association in the mind between feelings of well being and the psychecentric worldview that the ritual seeks to evoke in the practitioner.
∑ I have removed references to Judeo-Christian deity names. The reasons for this should be obvious to any LHP practitioner as Christian theo-philosophy represents a most poignant example of everything we hold in disregard.
∑ I have inserted the Setian speech-sigil, “Xepera. Xeper. Xeperu.” (translated as “I have come into being, and by the process of my coming into being, the process of coming into being is established.”)(2) due to its value as a statement of great existential import for the LHP practitioner.
∑ I am still working on the relationship of this ritual to the awakening of kundalini energy in the practitioner. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions from those with knowledge and experience regarding this matter.
∑ I have removed references to Judeo-Christian archangels and replaced them with a LHP credo or psychecentric “collect” since the aim of the ritual is to evoke those forces that will foster the development and strengthening of the psyche. Depending on context, an alternate and appropriate collect may be employed.
∑ A second moment of silence is utilized to close the ritual in order to meditate on and or direct the “energy” raised during the ritual on the task or tasks at hand, or as a segue into further workings.
∑ If one would like to perform a more traditional Pentagram Ritual, instead of the aforementioned collect, one may replace the customary references to archangels with patron deities or persons whose qualities one would seek to embody. [e.g. Before me Set, behind me Dionysius, at my left hand Nietzsche, and at my right Cthulhu etc.)
