Temple of Set Members on Abrahadabra?

I'm so excited! After three years of indecision I am finally sending off my application for membership. Any TOSers here on abrahadbra?

hmmm...I don't know! (they're pretty good at the whole low-profile thing...)

I like TOS folks mostly...many good conversations with them in the past...a few conflicts but always important stuff you know? shit that needs to get hashed out occasionally etc...

I think it will be a great learning curve...hope so anyway...

There's a lot of mystery surrounding Set...historically I mean...Set the *red-haired* Deity and all of that. Egypt was so metropolitan that its Pharoahs and/or Gods might hail from freaking anyplace really. Incredible diversity there and at the heart of all of this is Set. At the oldest of tables he is there...but where he really comes from is still anybody's best guess...

hell...they're still not 100% sure what his freaking animal form is! Some kind of aardvark I think is the general concensus...

and serpents of course...bigtime Ningishzidda-Set connection going down at the level of iconography, which is nothing trivial when you are dealing in ancient archetypes...that's the way history itself was generally recorded in those days...

So for all we really know Set may have his origins in ancient Mesopotamia...certainly parallels at least but possibly even more than this.

Good luck! I remember doing a report on Set in high school. Interesting character. I knew a pagan who worshiped him, and only found trouble and misfortune with him? Or maybe the person was just trying to blame bad events in his life on a deity like most people. (Sorry for going off topic, lol.).
