It has been claimed that outside Japan, underwater, lies a structure that is - claimed by some - 10 000 years old. This changes the historical view of the beginnings of our civil ways as being 5000 years!
Of course some argue that these structures are not man-made, but I don't think they look like nature created them... also some scientist say that 10 000 years ago would place the people who made these at the time when the ice melted and sea levels rose. This could perhaps be the collective memory of Atlantis/deluge myth!
