The cycles I have noticed or read about are 3 days, 28 days, 96 days, 10 months, 3 years and 9 years. I kind of see them as rungs on a ladder now. First master one stage and it is done and you work on the next one until it is done. It also possible that the shorter stages are easier to re-do and the longer the cycle gets the harder they get to re-do.
I am still a bit unclear on the 10 months stage, the 9 year stages and from what I can tell from reading the lives of many saints and mystics there might be a longer 18-21 year cycle.
Each stage also from what I can tell has both an active and passive stages. It’s like the shortest of stages the 72 hour one. You get the flash/bang (yang) of the sexual dream that you stop that takes effort, then there is the 72 hours of waiting (yin) and finally at the end you get another flash/bang with the tunnel experience (yang).
If your not familiar with the tunnel it is a multi level thing where it seems you are flying through a tunnel but after awhile you notice that what is happening is that energy is moving up your spine and you are just so focused on it that your attention becomes localized and you get this altered perception of flying high speed through a tunnel.
I also don’t think you can backslide. If you screw up something at the 3 years stage you don’t regress all the way back to the 100 days or earlier. You either pick up where you left off or you start the stage over at the next appropriate solar or lunar cycle. Alchemy was supposed to start in the spring-time in the sign of Aries but I don’t know if this has a parallel in Taoist Alchemy.
If you want to screw up the 72 hour cycle all you need to do is masturbate to ejaculation or even masturbate and use the cheater method of pressing on the perineum to stop emission. That will stop you from having the tunnel experience.
It is exactly 72 hours for some reason. If I took a nap at noon and had the sperm retention experience then the only time I would be due for the tunnel was at noon three days later. The tunnel would happen only in deep meditation or while sleeping but if I was sleeping and it happened it always woke me up. OBE were more flexible but the inner body experiences where always exactly 72 hours.
The 28 day lunar month cycle was another one I noticed in that if I did not use any sexual techniques to raise my Jing level then a few days before the new moon I would have the porn dream and then 72 hours later have the tunnel. This was most noticed from 1995-1998 when I stopped all artificial sexual stimulation techniques but still kept up with the sperm conservation. It became something like clockwork.
The 96 (100) day cycle manifested once in 1994 and the three year cycles have happened a couple times. First time was in 1997 when the little body came out of my forehead again but very weak and wispy exactly three years later from the original date in 1994 according to the lunar calendar. I used the Jewish one in case you’re interested. It’s happened on other minor things, which makes me think all these cycles repeat over and over like the 72 hour one but they just move up a level as we adjust and stop noticing them.
If all this is true then that flaming wheel was most likely the start of the last major Yin Cycle which puts the end of my alchemy in March of 2008 and in March. But I have been disappointed twice before so I don’t want to look forward to anything happening then (yeah, right).
What this means simply is instead of each stage following the last immediately like the day after the 100 days ends the 10 months begins you actually wait until the next solar cycle to start or the next year.
To make it even more simple my first idea was this:
1994=100 Days + 10 Months
1995-1997 = the 3 Years
1998-2006= the 9 Years
My new idea goes roughly like this;
1994= 100 Days
1995= 10 Months
1996-1998= 3 Years
1999-2008= 9 Years
(Do these numbers add up?)
