hmmm...well I can understand the pressure cooker metaphor at least. This guy fairly drips with unnecessary adjectives but his basic point is valid I think...it's even scarier than he paints it actually. Our galaxy is a 2nd generation galaxy which sort of makes you wonder what happened to all the first generation galaxies...well...they pretty much went bust according to modern physics...too much infrared made them highly unstable...so the universe effectively wasted an entire round of galaxies to create the proper conditions for a more stable second round...we're talking about trillions of stars here...a number so staggering we can't even fathom it. And in all those second generation galaxies, how many do you suppose can really sustain a form of life as evolved as our own?
Science fiction aside (which is something of our own devising anyway) and considering the pattern of waste as exhibited elsewhere in nature, there may not actually be that many such planets in this immediate round of galaxies! The level of waste is unbelievable, but then, how many perfectly functional sperm cells do you suppose the average male expends in a lifetime to produce maybe 1 or 2 kids at most...trillions? quadrillions? googles?
So I get the pressure cooker motif alright...I don't like it, but I definitely get it.

Think I'll take the same attitude with ladies from now on. :D
Started thinking, that perhaps a large part of the universe could get wasted from just one jackpot-born human. Supposedly Creation has awaited for the coming of Maitreya for a long time. Perhaps triggering a new kind of Big Bang in the process for something new to come up.
