View Full Version : Raw Occult Diet

I'm going to be doing a raw food/juice diet per the recommendations of my friend Deimos.
He has a lot to say about the subject and I wanted to begin a conversation here on the benefits of raw food.
I started eating raw veggies and raw seafood per the recommendations of our friend Ningishzidda who also introduced me to Deimos, and I noticed a huge difference in my health.
Now the trouble with this is because I live with a family who is still on the crummiest diet you can imagine, it's somewhat hard to stay ahead of the curve when you're often being tempted with white flour and preservatives, but I still manage to maintain pretty good and my energy levels are higher.
One thing I was talking about with Deimos was that the bacteria in your body will convince you to eat rotten food so they can further their own growth cycles - something I've actually read about in popular nutrition books and had health experts tell me. Scientifically this is unproven but I really don't find it hard to believe as an occultist that bacteria kami have their own will.
So I was going to start by buying my own juices from the Kagome line, somehow they manage to make beet, cabbage and green leafy juice taste good, even my kids love the stuff...
I don't want to invest in a juicer right now because after considering all the work I do I really don't even have much time to bother cutting the vegetables I eat, usually just eat an avocado right out of the peel, etc.
I am going to keep eating rice...I really can't give up my sushi just yet I think.
Food colors are another important part of watching your body signals. If you look at what color you're attracted to at the time sometimes it signals you need something from that food. Like the other day I noticed I was attracted to white, and I was sitting at a sushi bar with Greg staring at a white octupus tentacle and it looked really tasty. SO maybe I had a copper deficiency (octopuses have copper based blood - if they had bones we would all be fucked)

I've been experimenting with raw meats and seafood for a few months now. I can only eat raw red meat that has not been pushed with all kinds of junk. That is hard to find here sometime in Indiana, but, I did find a good butcher who claims to have the goods and it has been wonderful so far. I eat most of the red meat very rare! It doesn't hurt to kill off the surface bacteria that is a little bit different than the core bacteria anyway.
I'll be anxious to hear how you get along with this Naomi.

that's a very good idea Naomi. I did a raw fruit/veggie diet for a detox, and the benefits were apparent...the detox is amazing.
like you said, there is alot of work in doing this, so good luck, especially when everyone around you doesn't understand what you are doing...
prolly the most important thing is to make sure you are getting real organic food, otherwise one is just putting toxins back into the body

Actually, I think there is some scientific research that shows that bacteria can cause food cravings for foods that they need to survive. Here's an article showing that cravings for chocolate come from the bacteria in your gut.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/10/12/health/main3360369.
Cooking food alters the chemical structure of the food. That's why the taste, color, texture, etc of a food changes when you cook it. Cooking food also causes the food to lose the nutrients and enzymes that make the food so healthy when it's raw.
Now I'm nearly a fruitarian when it comes to the goods that I eat, the only difference is that I like to juice leafy greens and other vegetables and eat unheated honey when the mood strikes me. So usually what I end up eating is fruits like melons, pineapple, citrus, and apples and nuts and seeds like almonds and flax seeds. I get my vitamin D(and a fantastic tan) from sun exposure.
The benefits are really great so far. I lost a lot of weight, which returned me to a healthy weight for someone of my age, size, and activity level(I'm a nerd who jogs for exercise) and is now holding steady. My eye color changed from a dull gray to a bright blue, which was surprising, and there's been noticeable healing in my body in a "here and there" kind of way. First my teeth started to whiten and repair the damage done by years of braces, tooth decay, and scraping with paperclip just because I was bored in middle school math class. Old scars have reduced in size, though not healed completely. My chronic tonsillitis has healed slightly and obviously, though not completely. Also my mood became very light and optimistic and I became very clear headed and focused.
One of the unpleasant but necessary things to happen is bacteria die-off. When the bacteria in your body begin to starve to death or just become less active and easier targets for the immune system as you eat healthy foods that they can no longer handle, you will seriously begin to feel their anxiety and pain as your own. Your thoughts will be inhibited, you'll panic, feel dysphoric, and in the worst cases I've had so far feel as though you're dieing, and you will obsessively think only about the foods that will make you sick and that the bacteria in your body can utilize.
Of course, once this passes and the bacteria that were causing it die you're healthier and happier than before and less full of disease-causing and mind-inhibiting bacteria than before.
Oh, btw. A raw vegan diet makes your poops really, really regular. Constipation will not happen to you on this diet.

Ditto. There is nothing harder than eating healthy when you're surrounded by potato chips, chocolate bars, already prepared "meals" and a family that nags you about what you're doing :o:mad:

Studies show that coffee actually has 10x more anti oxidants than green tea.

Wow, cool....the problem here is really just the cream and sugar I guess.

I'm a little skeptical about the health benefits of antioxidants, personally. But then I don't drink coffee.

Very interesrting thread, your link seems a wee bit contraversial Deimos, judging by the comments(even one by Nggggggggg heh heh)
I like my coffee, have a bread roll & bacon every morning & usually have some greens every evening with my meal(broccoli, peppers) or carrots.
I don't eat processed/pre packaged food so much & like my pasta.
I haven't missed a days work for many years now through ill health, which is not to say that I won't just spontaneously combust or something one day.I get excersise chasing my kids around.
My beer is due to be ready one week fro today. It is a *living* thing which must not be disturbed or else you may *kill* it.
The living organisms in home brew any good for you?I know a lot of beer drinkers who should be dead by now given the self abuse inflicted upon themselves over the years who are fit as fiddles.
Cheers

stay away from refined sugars naomi, prolly the worst thing you can put in your body, next to high fructose corn syrup.

and i'm like "whatever" so I just pour myself another
and then I go and sit down, with my cup of sugary fucking coffee
and find that fr. novumorganum is also apparently a part of ng's spy network
im going to go drink my coffee black now.

I love raw garlic! I used to eat it by itself for the longest time until the pleasure I got from eating it was outweighed by the irritation I got from being nagged all the time over smelling like garlic.
I want to start eating raw chilis.

lol yeah it smells but see...the secret is you and your lover both have to eat italian/greek/chinese and THEN you don't notice it LOL fuck everyone else
I really didn't actually get my raw garlic last night because I got in the kitchen last night and found out we've run out :(
I love greek peppers, are they bad or good for you? I like taking them in the winter because they warm me up and they're a blood cleanser I think.

Raw garlic is awesome. It burns my tongue but it warms my normally cold fingers and toes. And I think I smell like garlic bread for the rest of the day afterwards.
I wish I could live off garlic and honey alone.
Silk is good, and quite easily accessed in most grocery stores. My favorite, next to Silk, is 8th Continent (light, plain).
I've been vegetarian for several years now, but I've never given the raw diet a shot. Mind if I ask you to describe what you eat in a typical day? Do you eat just raw veggies plain, or do you use condiments of any sort? Raw vegan seems the next logical step for me, so you've piqued my curiosity.

I certainly don't eat raw everyday, my life is way too stressful right now to begin doing that. I need to get a little more stability in my life and then I can begin with a good diet plan.
But no, I eat frozen cooked shrimp and as much raw stuff as I can get - I still eat noodles and all of that, but I avoid white flour and sugar as much as I can - alcohol, too, but not out of self denial, it just is sort of a tantric thing for me I get into when I'm manifesting Kali - a trend I've noticed since my local satanic dance club opened (it later closed down) the other thing I do is compromise heavily on part of at least getting the right nutrients - I'd rather have a puile of sushi or good cooked vegetables than a pile of raw lettuce - and who wants to eat just raw veggies all the time? a little pan frying tastes good if you don't overdo it.
I need meat, I like meat and most of all I think it hs magical properties inherent to the animals you consume so I will not be giving this up ever again - I've tried both and I like and fresh cooked meat.
Soymilk is all the same to me, as long as it gets the job done im not too picky...
flavors are really not so much important to me as are balanced nutrtional meals - not all raw foods are good for you - mushrooms have to be cooked for instance, and some vegetables are too rough to be eaten uncooked.
I like honey too but it feeds candida and this is something I'm not attracted to doing so I have to avoid it mostly - in this case I actually prefer artificial sweetener like splenda even though it's a taboo for others. I did the research on splenda when it came out and I didn't really see a problem. The independent lab seemed to find mostly malnourishment as the problem, unlike aspartame which literally turns into formeldahyde and body temperature levels.
gross!
I still drink regular diet coke though! You can't win them all....and who gives a shit really, we're all going to die eventually....unless science gets its act together....well, everyone really...planet's going down though, that's inevitable. I doubt technological anti-aging will have a chance to take off.
"I like meat and most of all I think it hs magical properties inherent to the animals you consume..."
What magical properties can a penned-up cow in a factory farm, or a caged chicken, possess that could possibly be beneficial to you? I think instead that negative energies are passed to the consumer. These animals didn't know anything of nature...they knew confined spaces, closed quarters, chemical supplements, mutilation and miserable death. That's the magical property content you receive.
Now, if you buy free-range, that's a different story. But the passing of magical energies was traditionally seen in the respectful occasion of the hunter in the act of tracking down and bringing his prey to the ground...a far cry from picking up a faceless chunk of frozen carcass at a grocery store. So essentially, all you're doing is taking in calories, fat and cholesterol and painting it with a pretty, magical justification. But there is surely no magical exchange involved in the process. It's best to just say "I like meat and I'm not giving it up!", without the mention of magic.*
*All in my humble opinion.

I hear you!
Scientifically raw vegetables contain less free radicals, which is always a good thing!
