I've been doing a bit of research for one of the articles I was working on here and ran into this little ditty...
BBC News | Middle East | Oldest alphabet found in Egypt (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/521235.stm)
Unfortunately the report itself is shawdy and incomplete...anybody happen to know any more about this?
I am given to understand that Egypt is already considered the home of the oldest actual *alphabet*, as we use the term today but this recent find dates back even further than they previously thought possible...
Of course, any day now they'll probably discover an entire library from the neolithic period...hehe...
