Tonight is the full moon. TheTengu works in the police department so he comes up close and personal with the gruesome effects of the full moon every month.

I use the full moon as a deadline to discard and deal with obstacles.

Generally the rule of thumb I use is "You reap what you sow"

During the waxing (growing) moon you can put into her what you want to occur in your life, and on the full moon these will be made manifest as far as they can be made manifest.

As the moon wanes (lessens), one can rid themselves of garbage they don't need. This is good, for say, letting go of bad habits ( i got rid of my aversion for cleaning my kitchen this way, once)

And finally during the approximately three days of the dark of the moon, one can use this time to perform incantations to open portals and summon gods more easily.

A blood moon is when the moon emits a red light, they're quite rare. hese are used to open gateways to the underworld. They occur for various atmospheric reasons, sandstorms, duststorms and large fires are some of them. The most important occurence is when it turns red due to a lunar eclipse.

There is a solar eclipse taking place on the 7th of February this year, the date of Chinese New Year.

"The moon and the planets are Yin; they have shape but no light. This they receive only when the sun illuminates them. The former masters regarded the sun as round like a crossbow bullet, and they thought the moon had the nature of a mirror. Some of them recognized the moon as a ball too. Those parts of the moon which the sun illuminates look bright, those parts which it does not, remain dark."

Jin Fang, 1st century B.C.

There are other eclipses that occur in our solar system, for instance the moon Phobos, belonging to Mars, often passes over the surface of the sun and is visible from a telescope on earth.

The full moon isn't visible tonight, but if it were, a good use of the light of the moon is to raise a clear glass of water to the moon and drink the light from it....

Yeah, it is great when it is out. Always gives me insomnia for some reason (actually it is not for some reason... it is because of its effect on my brain)!

Yes, I also always am influenced by the full moon strongely; I just thought how funny the line about some "Tengu" working at a police station could sound to someone who doesnt know the BG...

The blood moon once was incredible- on some early spring evening on a day that was too hot for the season and with a "wide" sky like on the plain or the sea it rose early and looked very huge. The moon will look much larger when near the horizon because then one can compare it (normally "her" only in German its "he"- masculinum) to some features of landscape or bulidings on earth...

Another very cool moon is the high and absolutely pale one, as white or gleaming as nothing else, it is nice and effective in a very cold winter night in the Alps (-20°) with the snow-crystals glistening more beautiful than diamonds; or also in a too-cold spring night in Northern Japan when you are standing under a cherry tree (or even better: an old plum-tree) with falling blossoms; this is also good for smoking a cigarette or pipe. One also should from time to time dine under moonlight (and lunch under the sun, but this has to be mentally prepared cause it could be dangerous)...but the moon is nearly always benefical, only when it has a court (of clouds, or "smoke") then not so, or if its red then its only beneficial for vamps and sorcerers, maybe. ;)

Yes, the moon is full at the same time around the world. The moon's stage isn't dependent on where you are on the Earth. Rather, it's to do with the moon's position in relation to the Earth and Sun.
