I haven't been able to really find a thread on this subject thus far, so I figured I would start one here. Since this subject is both an avante garde art as well as a metaphysical subject.

Some really interesting synchronicities have been rearing themselves over the past few days, well since a working I did with a servitor of mine own creation. I'm not sure if he really has much to do with it, but I haven't done much divination on his involvement as of yet. Anyways on to the story.

I was going through an old cd booklet of mine last week and ran across a cd I created 3 years ago. I was skipping through it listening to the opening beats remembering which tracks were what, when I came across a song that I didn't readily recall. It sounded so familiar, yet I couldn't place it. As some of you might know I mainly listen to euro black metal and death metal, with some darkwave and industrial mixed in for good measure. This song though was something really different and I couldn't get it out of my head. IT was more upbeat and even radio friendly, quite the change from my norm. So I picked up my sister from work the other night and I played the song for her and asked her who the hell it was and before the lyrics even picked up, she replied with "Damn, since when do you like P.O.D." I was like huh? "P.O.D. you know Payable On Death, this is called Sleeping Awake, its on the Matrix soundtrack."

Needless to say since that day, I've really been giving more thought to the ideas presented in that song. What is this life, are we walking around in a dream state, is there such a thing as the apocalyptic end prophecy in which the dreamer finally awakens, what is the meaning behind the symbols, are we lucidly creating our own realities, or is reality creating us lucidly?

Funny enough the past few days I've also been having very intriguing dreams that involve friends of mine within the occult community as well as symbolic philosophies that seem to speak out to me. This morning after waking up from a particularly symbolically charged dream, as I was leaving my girlfriend's house and remembered she had the movie Waking Life. I threw it in this morning and began watching it as I was cruising the net on the job hunt. Suddenly there came a point to where two of the characters were having a conversation about whether we are the ones that shape our dreams or is it our dreams that shape us. Then it went on to explain that we are the ones that create our own realities. Then it went on to a conversation that the main character had with another individual on the fact that there are not many true dreamers these days, and we need to keep the dreams alive and awaken more to dreaming, or dream more individuals to awaken...

Another interesting point in the film was they touched upon the idea of a larger telepathic consciousness that might be shared by individuals. They used this conversation to explain acts of synchronisity between people as well as why sometimes when an individual stumbles upon something of innovation, soon after other individuals who have never had contact somehow come to these similar innovations and thoughts. For example, ever since I had first watched What The Bleep Do We Know, I started trying to develop a new personal system based on the ideas of the quantum universe affecting the macro universe. Well I've been working on developing this system for over 3 years now and was actually working on writing something up for this, well low and behold I saw last week that someone has already written a book on the subject, entitled Quantum Chaos. So there goes my idea. But it does raise interesting questions. Do we somehow share a meta-telepathic consciousness?

I may have gone off topic with this, but I'm curious as to what others think of these lines of thought. Are we sleeping awake? Are we living the waking life, and if so are we creating our own lucid realities?

...and we need to keep the dreams alive and awaken more to dreaming, or dream more individuals to awaken...
Yeah; united we sleep, divided we dream!

Are we sleeping awake? Are we living the waking life, and if so are we creating our own lucid realities?
I think there can be little doubt, in my view, that we are indeed sleepwalking - and that we are both the creator and the created!

Heh. I also saw what the bleep do we know, I found it at a local video rental (perhaps it's widely known somewhere else, but I have never heard about it - I live in spain).

It was interesting... I share more of the ideas in that video now. Some of the people in that video gave me the creeps, but some other didn't.

practice zen until you understand the difference between what you are not, and what you are when "being in the moment" is achieved, theres a drastic and unsettling difference between awake and asleep.

...theres a drastic and unsettling difference between awake and asleep.
I hope so... it is two different forms of existence.

What are your techniques?

Yes. Jung called this the "collective unconscious." At our most fundamental level we are all "connected." This is why there are pyramids on both sides of the Atlantic; the pyramid is a symbol that is a part of our "collective unconsciousness."

Also, G.I. Gurdjieff spoke often of "waking up" all the people of the world. He proposed that everyone was "asleep," completely unaware of the world around them. He was once asked how he was different from everyone else, he replied, "I am awake."

Another person who would agree with Gurdjieff about humanity being asleep is J. Krishnamurti. Look him up on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiddu_Krishnamurti) and see what he is about.

i'll sit facing the wall, and use the wall as a means of reflecting thought, when my mind starts wondering to different things ill state mentally to myself "having believed thoughts of...." then do a 3by3.(3x3)

a 3x3 consists of focusing in on 3 physical objects to train the mind onto in order to take it outside of the mental plane and into the physical "examples of physical objects to use in 3x3's would be your breadth, your hearing and your sense of touch", while the body is focused on the physical you'll progressivley pull yourself little by little into the moment while keeping yourself out of the mental plane.

this same exercise of meta cognition can be used to recognize and cease the mental process of thought while your interacting within your normal everyday active life, simply do the same thing of being concious of your thought, then brining yourself back into the present moment by using a 3x3.

i'm a aura reader and a empath and through those two abilities i practice magick, so keeping yourself outside of the situation is imo a necessity of manipulating vibration in this way.
