Note: I'm going to try a new experiment with this topic because I am sick of having my ideas diluted before they are even developed and it often takes more than just some little introduction to present a decent idea. So I am going to lock this thread and if you want to respond...start another one with the same title + "/Response" or even "/Rebuttal" or whatever, so others have some idea what you are responding to...

One of the best ways of understanding Abrahadabra is to think of it as a very high order of weapon...like a gun, really, but much smarter than a gun...a weapon that has a kind of consciousness of its own and is able to attack without violating any laws, or for that matter, without *dehumanizing* either target or shooter. A weapon that might kill or disarm or wound or do nothing at all depending on all relevant variables weighed all at the same time.

I grew up largely on the streets from my early teens and one of the things that impacted me the most was the amount of stupid violence people so greedily gravitate to almost as soon as they are able to think in such terms, so in order to get the whole picture on this you have to be able to approach it from a lot of different angles. I do not for a moment believe that people will ever rid themselves of violence on an emotional level...it permeates everything including sexual relations and job choices and all the rest. People are a violent animal and they may always be a violent animal so long as the possibility of violence presents itself as an option. And even if it were somehow not an option, still it would be there just below the surface. People crave violence like a drug...they love the shit whether they admit to it or not. Those who have been on the receiving end might love it a little less, but only superficially since in many cases if the tables were turned they would be quick to change position with their aggressors...we see it all the time and I do not think violence itself will ever be eliminated from the human psyche. If changes can be made, they will need to be made at the level of implementation...so that's a long-term application that we cannot expect to be the first thing resolved but still has to be included in the overall discussion.

One of the first things that actually caught my attention about Abrahadabra as presented in Liber Al vel Legis was the idea of it as a kind of weaponry. It doesn't really matter much whether you accept or reject this book as being real or fictional or even an outright scam...at the level of its characters and how they are presenting ideas, Abrahadabra is introduced to us as the principal magickal *formula* of Ra Hoor Khut who defines himself - in the first instance - as a God of War and Vengeance. If Abrahadabra is his preferred modus operandus, then it stands to reason it can be expected to bear the qualities of a weapon sufficient to pass his own inspection according to his own usual priorities. So this thought immediately intrigued me as I had already been thinking a great deal about magickal weaponry by the time I first encountered Abrahadabra and had - to some extent - worked out at least a few of the finer points of what such a weaponry would have to be capable of...what specifications would have to be met in order to be effective and so on.

to be continued...
