Am I the only one who uses colored candles to represent natures and elements?[earth, wind, fire, water,Void]I was told on another forum I was in error for doing this.

I use colored candles to represent elements in just about every ritual.

I pretty much have the quarters set up with corresponding colors and positions (N/S/E/W) all the time. For me, it's useful subconscious shorthand, if you will.

I don't really use one for Void, though I do use black candles at times for the purposes of banishing and suchlike.

What did this other person or persons have a problem with exactly? Now I'm a bit curious.

one thing at least becomes very clear I think...magic(k) is not about what suits a bunch of internet posers. It's true you want to try to do things in the right way but it is also true that many things boil down to personal factors...

I think colored candles sounds like a great idea. I'm partial to black myself so tend to overuse them but there is nothing at all wrong with using colors.

I would however recommend beezwax candles over synthetics...the quality of flame is much better and they don't off-gas anything weird or toxic...

I'm mighty fond of the veg wax ones too. They don't drip all over everything.

And yeah, what you guys said....I've always used elemental correspondences and have never heard of that being a thing to be looked down ones nose at.
