A rune of joy, represents male fertility, forces of creation and creativity as well as the growing forces of spring. Also connected to Frej.

Ing = a fertility god!

Fro Ing= Frej no doubt BUT the idea that Ing is a rune primarily of creation/fertility/growth is an oversimplified one.

Frej himself is more about the potential, idea or drive of said fertility. It's kind of like the potential held withing a seed rather than the growth of the seed itself. The actual manifestation of the growth potential is better realized in runes like Jera and in anything having to do with Thor or Sif.

Ing has a strong relationship to the clan or family and is more indicative of a deep contentment and an inner peace than of actual joy, which is better realized in the Wunjo rune.


Yeah I think it's purely coincidental as the base languages for each are of a totally different language family.

But then again, archetypes are, well, archetypal....;)
