I had found a pendent on the floor in my room. I have absolutely no idea how it got there. I've never seen it before. It has what looks like the Buddha on the front sitting in the lotus position.
Unfortunately, I don't have the option to upload pictures on a thread, and I don't upload my pics to any external site. I uploaded the pictures into an album on my profile. If you recognize it, or know how to read it, please let me know.

I was inspired by some of the calligraphy there into arranging this for some reason:

{I apologize if I'm mashing different cultures here, but I just do as I'm told... :o}

That's looking pretty cool! Thanks for your help. :) I thought of going to a translation site, but I'm not sure what the language is. I thought it might be Sanskrit, but comparing the two by sight, they seem slightly different. I might be wrong, as my knowledge in this area is pretty much nil.
When I look at the Buddha on it, I logically think it has something to do with peace, self-knowledge, meditation, awareness, tranquility. Perhaps it's a verse from some sacred text, or mentioned a local temple by name...or for all I know it could say "Shop smart, shop S-mart."

So far, I have looked up Thai, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Gujarati. All of these scrips look similar, but alas, no cigar. Either that or the style of font makes it difficult to identify. Like it's a variation of one of these scripts.

I think your first supposition is correct. Upon examination, my best guess is Thai, or a border region with present day Thailand.

I think it might be Pali, which would make sense because it's what the original buddhist scriptures were written in. What style of buddha is it? Indian, Thai, Chinese, Tibetan? Have a look here (http://www.omniglot.com/writing/pali.htm) for Pali, which uses several scripts. It's not Devangari, but it might be http://www.omniglot.com/writing/brahmi.htm. I don't think so. Here's a very helpful page, though: http://www.omniglot.com/writing/alphabets.htm

I can't tell what kind of Buddha he is, only that he's not a laughing Buddha. When I look up Thai Buddha I get a pretty accurate pic, however, it's not that dissimilar to the Chinese or Indian Buddha.
