Abrahadabra Forums has teamed up with Zoints! We took our time on this and really looked this outfit over from cover to cover and they just can't be beat. Not only does it offer members a wide range of user benefits right away, but it provides the site itself with the best support network of its kind anywhere on the planet. This company is poised for growth like you wouldn't believe, because they are doing the right thing at the right time in the right way. Members who may want to use this site to reach as wide an audience as possible for their various projects will also benefit from the aditional networking support. All in all, this is a win-win situation for everyone concerned.

To get an idea of what Zoints offers, please take this quick tour (http://zoints.com/tour/forum-members/).

What is Zoints?

Zoints is a forum network and profile system utilized by more than 125 forums, including many of the largest in the world (http://www.big-boards.com/kw/zoints/). It provides you with new features such as your own highly customizable personal webpage, photo albums, blog, page to show off your vehicle, means to keep track of friends, and MUCH more. In turn, Zoints is designed to help bring new members who share the same interests as we do to this forum. An example profile of a car forum member can be seen here (http://nasiocnick.zoints.com).

Before going any further, if you don't want to use Zoints, don't worry, you can turn it off by going to your user control panel options page and unchecking the boxes at the very bottom.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do I HAVE to use Zoints? Can't I just turn off the box and links without linking to my profile?
A. No, you don't have to use Zoints. To turn it off, go to your user control panel, then edit options. Scroll to the very bottom and uncheck the two boxes under "Zoints Options".

Q. Does Zoints have a privacy policy? I'm concerned about them sharing my information.
A. Zoints' privacy policy can be read here (http://zoints.com/privacy-policy.z).

Q. If i'm not sure how to do something on Zoints, who should I contact?
A. You can submit a support request on Zoints by going here (http://zoints.com/support.z) or clicking on the http://img.zoints.com/z/navbar_o_support.png at the top of your screen at Zoints.

Q. How is Zoints different from all those other social networks I already have a profile at?
A. Zoints is designed to benefit our forum. For example, they actively work to drive traffic to our forum. By using Zoints, you will help this site gain new members. In addition, Zoints doesn't suffer from many of the problems that plague other social networks.

Q. I really don't want anyone except members here to be able to view my profile. Is that possible?
A. Yes! Just set your group permissions (http://zoints.com/tour/group-permissions/) accordingly.

Just so everybody knows...Zoints is a very new company that happens to have some of the best internet professionals in the business pooling behind it. Like us, they are relatively small for the moment but just like us, they aren't going to remain small for long. We've got something they want (original interesting content) and they have something we want (internet networking savvy)...

But perhaps the coolest thing of all is, they didn't yet have a good Occultism forum linked through their system yet...We're it!!! We're the first legitimately whole-on Occult Philosophy site at Zoints. So if you look at the package and like what it has to offer, take a little time to set up your Zoints profile page. It doesn't have to be fancy and you can chip away at it as time permits but we are tapped into a much bigger community now with writers and artists and musicians and just all kinds of folks...many of whom have more than just a passing interest in Occultism already. The more people they see with user profiles they can look at (if you want them to) the more of them we'll have here to talk with...

And it you don't want to have anything to do with this...just turn it off. Nobody is going to hold that against anybody. But the rest of you - please set up your Zoints profile pages as soon as possible to begin getting the real benefit from this thing...The more people we have participating the more dynamic it will all become...

thanks gang,

That was a lot more fun than I thought, particularly choosing alternative names for the blocks.

Now if they integrate with Livejournal instead of their own blogging software, I would be set.

Thanks for sharing this, m1thr0s.

no sweat Qaexl...the more I looked into it the more of a no-brainer it became. It's their philosophy almost more than anything else that really sold me (and Danisty too, since she actually found them first). These folks really are in it for the common good...and they're smart. I haven't even begun to tap all of that yet. A lot of good occult sites have gone down over the years. I want this one to be around for a long long time. To do that, you gotta learn how to grow in the right kinds of ways...

Anyway...think I'll go check out your profile!

One reason I liked Livejournal was it allowed people a space and voice ... Zoint to me, is much like that for these different forums. It definately works well with being able to organize widly scattered occult knowledge as I come across them and my own personal internet projects. So for example, being able to bookmark specific threads would be good. Maybe someone bright can write a vBullitine mod for it, ("Bookmark this on Zoint", or even the "subscribe" feature).

An idea I've had while OF got hacked ... a way for someone to easily copy and archive threads. It would not be a complete archive, but it would widely scatter the contents of the threads based on what an individual finds interesting. I think this can certainly be done with Zoint's blogging feature -- though it wasn't meant for that ;-) but as I already have a Livejournal blog and use its feed for Zoint, that means I got space to archive interesting things.

cool ideas Qaexl. maybe you should run some of this stuff by the Zoints staff...they've always been very responsive in my experience. And let me know if you turn up something good we can plug in here please. I love the idea of being able to bookmark/subscribe via Zoints. Some of you folks can run circles around me tech-wise though so you may have a much better idea of the possibilities. Few people know that I was a complete computer-phobe until just a few years ago when I finally realized that typewriters were a torturous way to try to get any writing done (not to mention the art possibilities). I still have my white-out though...just in case...lol

Well, technically Zoints is a vBulletin hack and they are producing features that integrate forums into their profile system and create more networking. If you have any suggestions, we should give them to Zoints directly.
