I would like to take astral projection down to the level of sensual experience.

From my experience, there is a threshold between (and I hate putting it this way, but I feel I have to for the sake of brevity, so I'll put scare quotes around it) "being in the body and being out of the body."

From my experience, every time I have successfully exited my body via meditation, I have felt a violent vibration located somewhere around the vicinity of my brain. Violent as in I would be inclined to say that my head is gyrating despite its stillness to the point where the moment I recognize this violence I recognize the threshold that allows me to exit and therefore I do. That's pretty convoluted, but it's the best I can do.

Am I alone in that I feel a violent, thick vibration mid-cranium prior to projecting?

There was always a more or less toned down yet somehow deeply-felt "hum" (humming sound) through my brain before such projections...that could be the same...I don't do those kind of "projections" nowadays anymore, though...

I read an article some time ago that suggested that the pineal gland contains a form of crystals that can be influenced by external magnetic fields, the same sort of crystals that are in the ears. Perhaps, then, these confirm the location of a person within a magnetic field (say, the earth?) using the ones in the ears as magnetic poles and the pineal gland as a central dead point. What would happen, then, if the personal magnetic field is "moved" (as, in my opinion, it is during astral travel)? We would probably experience a violent shaking, as if the entire magnetic field of the earth is jumping around.

At least, that's my thoughts on the matter. I also experienced the shaking at first, and my guess is it happens when you can't move your own magnetic field out of your body fast enough, far enough away from the dead points in the body that tell you where you are. To get rid of the shaking, try to exit more rapidly, perhaps try directly projecting yourself to a point further outside your body immediately.

..but, just like kuroyagi, I don't really do that stuff any more. Hope my thoughts were of some value.
