This series of images was inspired by the
Rosicrucian and Qabbalistic Diagrams (http://www.sacred-texts.com/eso/sta/sta35.htm)
in
Chapter XXXIII
of M.P. Hall's Secret Teachings of All Ages (http://www.sacred-texts.com/eso/sta/index.htm)
edit and disclaimer:
Since, upon reflection, I've come to realize that I either don't adequately comprehend or
that I don't agree with the descriptive text in the Hall pages regarding these diagrams,
I've modified slightly the title and the intended goal of this thread...
I'm now going to use the original images only as sources of inspiration for
the series of images presented here with any accurate relationship
to the originals being generally unintentional and therefore coincidental...
IOW, Art for Art's sake... :p
I'll be adding new examples periodically as they are finished...

I have this book printed out, but neither read it nor are there page-numbers on my version!!! (terrible since its also quite chunky)...I love your images though- very "old world"-design. I wish I had time to learn to make such on the computer too.
My favs are the second and the third one, they correspond well with me right now since they are visions of the All-unity, of the Divine Child (golden child, child upon the 8 petaled lotus etc.), the state both before consciousness and the promise of the one after (todays) consciousness. Maybe later, when I will have some time, I will look into the Hall-book, too (thanks for the "recommendation" MM!).

This next series of 8 images deals with Octaves and Octagrams, warped
chessboardgrids, and possibly DNA/I Ching and the Binary Code...
It examines aspects of the Octagram (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octagram) (via the Square&Vesica) through
designs based on the so-called √2 system of proportioning...
This is because the diagonal of a unit square
is the square root of 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_root_of_2) units in length...
By legend, this was proven by Pythagoras
to be the first recognized irrational number (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irrational_number)...
In fact, it is also known as Pythagoras' constant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagoras%27_constant)...
_____________________________________________
It begins with the Square (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square_%28geometry%29)...
Delivered directly from within the Vesica: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vesica_piscis:)

That Dynamic Diamond can be copied and rotated
through 45 degrees to also form the Stable Square...
Together they form what is known as the Star of Lakshmi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_of_Lakshmi)
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q48/MythMath/33pointOgdoadStarStarofLakshmi.jpg

Upon that Star, the regular star polygon figure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_polygon#Star_figures)
known as the Unicursal Octagram can be rendered:

By using the Unicursal Star as a template,
an 8- x 8-cell 'irregular' grid can be derived...
The 64 cells of the Grid are made up of various squares and rectangles:
32 squares (16 small and 16 large)
32 rectangles (16 vertical and 16 horizontal)

An interesting pattern of squares are highlighted to reveal the Octaves
or doublings of proportions in the area of the squares...
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q48/MythMath/33pointOgdoadStarwithgridgreensquar.jpg
In the image below, the areas of the squares are indicated...
The four central squares are grouped to form a single square with an area of 4 units:
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q48/MythMath/33pointOgdoadStarwithgridgreensq-1.jpg
Note that the blue circle inscribed within the central '4 square' is the
same diameter as the blue circle surrounding the '2 square'...
And that the yellow circle inscribed within the '2 square' is the
same diameter as the yellow circle surrounding the '1 square'...
Also note that the total area of the
9 green squares is 16 units...
MythMath

When the 9 squares are copied and rotated 45 degrees,
the total area is obviously then doubled to 32 units:
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q48/MythMath/33pointOgdoadStarwithALLgreensquare.jpg
The design above was used as a template for this one below...
Note the fractal-like recurrence of the Unicursal Octagram as the central motif:
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q48/MythMath/33pointOgdoadStarcopy.jpg
32 red points are required to anchor the lines that make up the squares...
32 terminal points that yield squares whose total area adds up to 32 units...
The two original squares of the Star of Lakshmi
in post #16 (http://forums.abrahadabra.com/showthread.php?3333-Series-of-%28ersatz%29-Alchemical-Diagrams&p=63072#post63072) each have an area of 64 units...
And the entire 64-cell Grid has a total area of 128 units...

Shit that's really neat, thanks, man!
Fun to play with the depth on these.

Interesting breakdown Myth/math. I was watching the Windows Media player screen as I was listening to a finished music track that is ready for export, 'The Flower Song" and a Sigil-Like flower appeared sitting on top of a stepped pyramid (steps on both sides with a top landing that the flower is sitting on) that ends up slowly fading as the flower bursts apart in radiance. Left an impression I have memorized. Unexpected. Sometimes the player will be actuated to present images beyond what you will usually see due to mathematical combination of notes and patterns of sound. your diagram of the octave "flower" reminded me of the flower I had seen.
