Favourite colours, to me, is such an intriguing part of getting to know someone. Next to that, I really like to know people's birthdate numerology and astrological sign. I can't validate it, but to me they are important and fascinating aspects.

If anyone wouldn't mind sharing that detail about themselves, I'd be pleased to know. While there are probably may ways to calculate birthdate totals, I have used the method in the book Numerology and the Divine Triangle by Javane/Bunker.

Here's an example from the book:

birthdate 11-12-1940

11 + 12 + 1940
11 + 12 + 14 (1 + 9 + 4 + 0)
11 + 12 +14 = 37/1

Looking forward to replies (I am Aries 33/6). The 37 in the example above is reduced (3 + 7 = 10) and the 10 is reduced (1 + 0 = 1), hence 37/1.

Well, using that method I am Gemini 46/1.

Um...if I'm doing this right, I'm a Sagittarius 52/7. Are you going to explain what this means to you?

21/3...
So...I'd like to know what the 9 colors are since there is a chance they may also correspond to other 9 based systems...In Bigrammaton 3= Air, for instance...which works in my case since I am an air sign (Aquarius)...

Thanks for all the numbers and signs. :) Each sign has a personal meaning for me based on all of the people I have met and the astrology books I have read. Not a huge amount in either case, but it must be the statistical analyst in me that likes to know, look for patterns and categorize. Thanks for indulging me.

According to the book I mentioned, the birthdate number is considered your life lesson number. “It represents the lessons you must learn in this lifetime and is most significant in your choice of a career.” For my purposes, I just like to find my own patterns, say for example, between all the 8’s I know. It gets more specific when I think of all of the 17/8’s I know as a group, or the 26/8’s, if you know what I mean. But overall, I’m just looking for patterns…because I’m compelled and enjoy it.

I think that there is something to the generalized descriptions for each number put forth in this book and others, but probably nothing solid you could say applies to all people fitting a specific number, as there are too many variables that make a person who they are. Same with astrology, as we all know. :) But it is still fun and there is something to it.

Colour preferences are a separate thing I like to know, at least this book on numerology doesn’t integrate colour. But I am now intrigued by the comment about Bigrammaton as you mentioned, m1thr0s. I don’t know about this system.

I became interested in birthdates/numerology when I watched a TV program about psychics that helped solve murders. A particular psychic that I highly regarded had helped discover the date of a victim’s death (an important clue in this case) by knowing her birthdate and using numerology. The show didn’t expound upon how he did this, which frustrated me, but I decided to start looking at birthdates.

Probably the main pattern I am looking for is compatibility. I find that I get along really well with certain signs. Generally speaking, I can become more easily agitated by another fire sign, and soothed by an earth. Numbers tell me motives and drives. Those with “1” tend to be strong-willed and leaders. Again, generally speaking and in combination with other attributes and motivations.

I also wanted to mention, for whatever it’s worth, that when I figured out Aleister Crowley’s birthdate and deathdate, I got this:

October 12, 1875
December 1, 1947

10.12.21, so 10 + 12 + 21 = 43/7
12.01.21, so 12 + 01 + 21 = 34/7

Don’t know what it means, but it is interesting.

P.S. I’ll privately message each person the description of their life lesson number, as per the book, to take as you will.

32/5 Capricorn by standard astrology, but the sun actually rose in Sagitarius on the day of my birth. I'm not so sure I really believe in astrology, but my personality actually does happen to resemble Sagitarius more closely than Capricorn.

Just for basics on each of the 9 numbers (because you might see some correlation, as m1thr0s mentioned, to other numerical systems like Bigrammaton, etc., and just so you’ll know), here is a very brief summary of each of the numbers:
1 – REPRESENTS THE MALE PRINCIPLE, the yang. Keywords: original, independent, aggressive, individualistic, creative, dominant; the first in a series, the start of any operation or activity, the leader, the pioneer, the boss who likes authority. “He who goes forth.”
2 – IS THE PAIR, the duo. Keywords: adaptable, tactful, understanding, gentle, cautious, a follower rather than a leader.
3 – COMBINES THE QUALITIES of 1 and 2. Keywords: expansive, social, dramatic, communicative, diversified, creative.
4 – IS STABILITY, a 4-square consciousness, they symbol of law, system and order. Keywords: form, work, order, practicality, construction, stability, endurance, discipline.
5 – IS FREEDOM, change and adventure. Keywords: versatility, resourcefulness, adaptability, change, activity, travel, adventure, promotion, speculation.
6 – IS CONSCIENTIOUS; it desires to bring harmony, truth, justice and a sense of balance into its environment. Keywords: family and social responsibility, service, love, compassion, counselling, healing, creativity.
7 – SEEKS ANSWERS. Keywords: quiet, introspective, intuitive, analytical, inspirational, reclusive, philosophical, mystical.
8 – WILL ASSUME POWER, for it now has achieved control and responsibility in its chosen field. Keywords: power, responsibility, financial rewards, good judgment, recognition.
9 – IS SELFLESSNESS and compassion. Keywords: love, compassion, patience, universality, tolerance, selfless service, endings.
As you can see, what I have included above is very, very general, yet still fun and helpful to ponder nonetheless. There is more to each general number, and each number is also given more specific meaning depending on whether it falls as your Life Lesson, Soul Number, Outer Personality, or Path of Destiny. And then there is further detail in the double digit that brings the single. And it goes even further into detail by using the divine triangle to map out periods within the lifetime.

I'm still working on the individual PMs about your numbers... :)

I'm a Pisces 25/7, but I was born seven and a half weeks premature. Had I gone to full term (which isn't truly exact, so the sign will mean more than the numerology) I would have been a... Taurus 28/1.

I find the fact that I would've been a Taurus pretty entertaining because in my personality, I really do see a constant vacillation between an extremely grounded, pragmatic, and "earthy" side of my personality and the emotional, spiritual, and "watery" side of my personality.

On a more related note though, I've always been interested in numerology and have played with it a few ways over the years. (Including in some funky ways for "more worthwhile" magical operations)

as far as colours go, I dig very dark greens.

Oh we're supposed to add our colors?

Well my favorite colors are black, white and red...that's what's in my wardrobe. I really don't discriminate though, I just like saturated colors. Deep golden yellow, cobalt blue, lime green, copper brown, etc...

Capricorn 24/6

A numerology site someone might enjoy: http://affinity-numerology.com/

I'm not sure how useful things like this are. For me, at least. I was born in the middle of Capricorn, but I am not a Capricorn. Not really. My life-path-whatever-number is 6, yet more often than not I find myself doing the exact opposite of what these systems say I should be doing, and thinking and feeling the exact opposite.

But it does seem to be a useful tool for others. Hmm. More power to them, I guess.

Oh, and colours: Black, blue so dark it is nearly black, and crimson.

This can be fun, but ultimately it lacks any validity whatsoever, because the date's are all meaningless and have no real value.

Astrological months can be said to be valid because they form part of a real astronomical calendar as seen from our planet, but unless a similar astronomical sequence can justify their order - ie which month begins a year- as well as deciding which year comes first in a cycle of years, then we are limited to the date within a month itself. eg, instead of 3-10-1972 (or 10-3-1972 in the US), I have just 11 (the eleventh day of Libra).

Perhaps there is some astronomical event that can decide which 'month' comes first? Perhaps not.

As for the year, apart from the Big Bang, no point or event in time other than an astronomical 'clockwork' event by a planetary or stellar body can justify the beginning of any universal numbering of years.

However, for the purpose of this exercise, I find 11 to be astrologically a more accurate result than 3+10+1972=1985=23=5. 'The Hierophant' has never made any sense to me as my card, whereas 'Justice' does, not just personally but astrologically, as I have five planets in Libra.

So, Alisa, that would make me

Libra 11/2

But of course the Hierophant is also 11... Atu 5 plus Vau(6) is 11... I know I know, this is not really an argument with you since I agree about arbitrary systems, but since I saw the link, there I figured I'd mention it...

You'll have to explain that one to me as I don't understand how Vau (6) enters the equation.

On another note, when it comes to choosing an arbitrary system to decide what year it is, I quite like to use the Roman one (http://www.novaroma.org/nr/Roman_dates#Dating_from_the_founding_of_the_city), as most things in the civilisation of the West, including the Occult, is rooted Roman culture.

This changes my birthyear from 1972 ad to 2725 auc, and the present year from 2007 ad to 2760 auc

A more astronomical date of course could be the use of astrological ages, based as they are on the Vernal Equinox Point (http://www.geocities.com/astrologyages/ageofpisces.htm), which makes my birthyear then 2062 of the Age of Pisces, unless of course you want to base it instead on the Autumnal Equinox Point, making it yet a different year of the Age of Virgo (Doh!)

But then on reflection, seeing as in the older Tarot decks 11 is Strength not Justice, the resonance dissappears again. Argh!
