Hi,
I will try my best to describe myself in english. Keeping it simple I'm portuguese, from Lisboa (Lisbon), 22 years old, and have a lot to learn.
I kinda feel myself like a noob in an Online RPG, asking everyone how to play, reading every Manual, memorizing every tip, and then starting to play according to what I learned...like in those virtual worlds, I find that u only really learn with your own experiences, even if u have a strong Theory stored in your mind.
My family put me in the Protestant Church, but i had so many questions that I left that path at 19. After that I started the path of really knowing myself and the truth about everything.
I have a very deep need of Knowledge and can't get no satisfaction: maybe because I can't find something that I can really apply in a Pratical way. I read many books, most of them to obscure or theoretic and now I really need some action, if u know what I mean: I want to play the game instead of knowing how it works.
The last two years I have read and study many things: Qabalah, Religions, Astrology, Thelema, Magick, Tarot, Runes, Meditation, Taoism, I Ching, Philosophy, Yoga...I have a very wide view of many things but I didn't go deeper in any area.
Now I would like to find some guidance for what to do next. I'm lost and falling appart...using a biblical image: I built my house in Sand foundations, the wind came and it fell appart. I would like to build some beautiful Castles.
I love Arts, Music (from Rachmaninoff to Cradlle of Filth), Reading, Reading, Reading, Internet, Online Gaming, Martial Arts and Cinema.
I study Law. I speak very good French and Portuguese (bad english :D), and have a very open mind.

Peace and hard work,

Oroc

Greetings Oroc!

Your english is quite excellent. I wish I was so fluent in Portugese.

You are quite right...theory without action is like music without instruments...
what the hell good is any of it if you can't move it around and work it?

My own practise involves a great deal of theory when the need turns to theory but is also very physical when I actually engage it. You will find this to be the case with most of the tantric arts in general...they are all quite physical and can be directly applied to many different kinds of action.

I am very glad you found these forums and I hope you will find some things here that you need. Don't worry about asking questions. Don't worry about your english...it's perfectly good enough for us to understand you.

Greetings Oroc! It's very good to meet you, welcome to AF!

I'm very glad you found your way here and I think you will probably find this place quite informative and horizon-expanding (it has certainly been one for me anyway, even though it is still a relatively new project). Judging from your interests, you'll fit just right in with the rest of us! :)

You are quite right and we could even venture so far as to say that practical application is in fact the whole point! Thankfully, as m1thr0s already mentioned, the Tantric approach in general ranges from exceptionally lofty theory to purely hands-on practical application, providing a complete spectrum of informed and most importantly correct thinking and action for us.

This forum encompasses a lot more regions of occultism than simply Tantric thought and practice however, but that example was brought up because both me and m1thr0s happen to tend to approach things in this fashion...

By the way, I agree, your english are excellent! Don't worry about it one bit...
