Yes, how to use potatoes as a divining medium.

1) Get some potatoes (blue potatoes work the best, but any potato will work).

2) Get a kitchen knife (preferably sharp)

3) Place the knife above the potato, then move it around, slowly, until the knife is in what feels like the right place to cut.

4) Cut the potato in half.

5) Pick the half that feels right and pick it up.

6) Gaze into the potato slice until you see an image (dip it in a dye or some ink if you have trouble seeing anything other than a blank slate. Blue potatoes are best because they have natural internal coloration).

7) Interpret the image in whatever way feels natural.

So there you have it. Potatomancy (sorry, couldn't come up with a cooler name). Lemme know what you think, ok?

Well, I think that since all you really need for divination is a media that presents an image based on intuition (think about the Runes and the Tarot and tea leaves, though I don't think there's an interpretive guide on potatoes), the technique incorporates all the necessary parts to a divination technique.

I came up with this myself, actually. My dad had just harvested some blue potatoes from his garden, and I noticed that there was a variety of different patterns and images that were formed by the potatoes when they were sliced. So I figured that incorporating intuition into the process of slicing and viewing the potatoes would allow for a useful divination technique. It's certainly cheaper than a Tarot deck, and it allows for a greater variation of images and symbols to be interpreted.

I like this idea - I'll have to try it next time I have some potatoes and see what turns up. Very interesting!
Best,
