I recently experienced a total lack of control over my astral body during projection.
Apparently, I was too focused on drawing energy via my feet. I was so absorbed in the process, and so absorbed in my goal of APing, that I entered trance and began projecting prematurely only to find myself spinning around the room as if David had gripped me by the ankles in an attempt to defeat Goliath. I continued to orbit a central point that largely resembled my feet (through which I was previously attempting to draw energy for the purpose of APing).
Overall, the AP experiment was successful simply because I APed. But, I relinquished control via an intense focus on my feet.
From this, I gather that astral bodies are contingent upon processes of accumulating energy.
This leads me to conclude that if I had gathered energy via my solar plexus as opposed to my feet, I would have exited with respect to a more centralized gravity, resulting in greater control over my astral body.
