Yah, I've heard so much victim blaming over the years when it comes to rape, and yet it's always aggravating. Especially knowing people who were raped who did not fit the standard definition of "drop dead gorgeous" and/or who were wearing sweat pants and a t shirt when they were attacked. This is what makes those rape prevention posters and tips so damn annoying. There was an interesting comic panel from a blog I frequent where the blog mistress explained "There are men and women who I can sit next to for the rest of my life butt naked and they will never rape me, because they are not rapists."
For some reason it never occurs to some people that maybe the rapist should be held accountable for his own actions. That whole "men just can't help themslves" is insulting to both men and women alike.
I read that article not long ago. The stupidity burns.

Just imagine how the article would sound if you replaced the words "men" with "adults" and "women" with "children".
Personally I am not a fan of "social justice". You can't trust a group of human beings to get to work without running each other off the road... I certainly don't trust them to provide justice *for* me on a silver platter. Call me a barbaric hun, but I think that if you want any justice in this world, you either seize it, or understand that you may have to do without it. In the case of social justice, that means not counting on 'law' to see that things get set right. because law is run by people, and people kinda suck, particularly in large bureaucratic groups.
I have not yet met a rapist. This is probably in part due to the fact that I am intimidatingly large in stature, which would make overpowering me quite difficult for the average male. But if i did meet a rapist, I would take advantage of the "window of opportunity" to legally take a human life, and check that off the darker end of my 'things i have never done' list. People talk about it like killing someone is profound. I doubt that it is, but at least one facet within wouldn't mind finding out, if some lowlife were to oblige by creating a plausible self defense scenario for me & all. There are numerous places on the human body which don't require very much force at all to loose someone from their mortal coil. Actually that's probably another reason I've never met a rapist, utter lack of victim mentality.
It's a pity I think, as I could kill 2 birds with one stone by satisfying a dark curiosity and saving numerous other women from a traumatic experience, all in the same act. Talk about harmonizing your dark & light side...
