What path-related reading has you eager to sit in your armchair at the moment?

I am currently enjoying A Magick Life: A biography of Aleister Crowley by Martin Booth.

It looks to be well researched and gives interesting examples of the happenings caused by his magickal workings as well as the usual biographical details you might expect to find in a biography.

Currently, it's Foundations of Tibetan Mysticism by Lama Anagarika Govinda...a very interesting overview of Tibetan Tantra and it's differing characteristics from Hindu Tantra.

As many know I have buried myself in Druid studies this year. I am currently reading "The Druid Source Book" by John Matthews and am thoroughly enjoying it, I just don't want to put it down. I have recently spent many hours this Autumn in the hammock reading "The Druid Way" by Philip Carr-Gomm and found it to be very beneficial. It was a nice book to read under the Oaks.

I'm rereading Six Names of Beauty by Crispin Sartwell, a wonderful book on aesthetics which analyzes beauty using six words which were used for beauty in different cultures.

I may also try to reread through my copy of Man and His Symbols again, although there were too many hints of Freud for me to totally enjoy it last time. (I'm a big fan of lots of Jung's thoughts but it seems that in this book, there was quite a bit of Fruedian influence, although mostly from the other contributers and not Jung.)

It's funny, all things considered. I find myself to be less of a Jungian and more of a post Lacan, post Deleuze & Guattari, Freudian (Hi Nuhad!). I dunno, maybe this will change... I just have trouble with self defining eternal 'essences'.Then again, there's math...

I find that I have a recurring desire to go back to Ram Daas' books.

Seriously contemplating:

Abrahadabra stuff:

and

Advanced Sexual Practices, Book I, Sebastian Heller (pdf)

My armchair is in front of my computer...I only sit on my living room armchair to fold laundry.

I'm not really attracted to any widely available occult books at the moment. I think I've read all of the information I need to that is available in that format. Now the best thing right now is active and present-tense discussion for me.

Not that I don't revisit stuff. Hatsumi works are always close at hand, for instance. I often go back to the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra and various others.

You know that only one of the women I've personally known ever bothered to read the whole of that, let alone master its techniques. None made it though, not anywhere near fully. Tis why I decided we needed a density phase transition...

I'm brushing up on that side of things again myself of late actually... Fair work to do now, just to get to where I was before. Moving very nicel;y though, and doing it a second time from initial zero (when I'd converted all my Jing to Shen) thereby proving that I can do the whole lot twice as good as most, even without the natural advantages I had first time round...

'Course, I'm also cheating this time using the mutations and command bundles and things, but, *shrugs*, why not...

The rest, is ambiguity... ;) :)

kisses,
Seb.

It's a great book, really.

Gosh you're cute sometimes Sebastian.

Which is weird, knowing the stuff I know about you....

Oooh. I have the Zelator... made it almost halfway through, and then put it down... what do you think? I keep thinking about picking it up again... I recall it being kindof awsome, and kind of not... But the path of the Fool is intruiging...

Yep, I made it some way through last time lol

Well, this time I seem to be reading it with different eyes, I see the prologue mentions Austin Osman Spare and I found it interesting that the guy writing the prologue visited the same occult books shops in London that I visit today!

I am also noticing the symbology more than last time.

If I manage to get to the end this time, I will give you my report.
