oh the number of times that's happened to me - and sometimes on my yahoogroups where I can spend ages composing an answer and looking up links - it's enraging! Go have a nip of that brandy before you rampage...I feel your pain. It's an awful experience.

shit...too bad. after awhile you'll develop the habit of copying your text once it reaches a certain length...even if you don't wind up having to paste it...just in case...
very annoying...for those of us who tend to write "stream of consciousness" even the brain tweezers won't help you much...besides which, they're kind of sharp anyway...

I feel your pain.
I tried to reply to posts on my 'other selves' thread, spent an hour writing something thoughtful, then lost it all when I decided to try spell check and the site decided I needed to re-sign in for some freaking odd reason even though I was obviously already signed in.
I pretty much had to just walk away for a bit. Count to 50 or something.

The thing I truly hate is when it was a post I *had* to reply to, say someone publicly asked me a bunch of questions and I'd be an irresponsible list-Mom if I didnt anwser. Some days I gnash my teeth doing this and it takes hours our of my paid work time. THEN when I lose one - and I have to re-do it - sometiems it happens here because we had a brown-out and just a second or two of no power wiped everything in Outlook. Horrible really. I should never work in Outlook but I do it all the time.

I gave up on Outlook...every time the power has a little hickup Outlook loses its freaking marbles and dumps everything...all the rest of my programs just kind of shrug it off and keep on going...not Outlook...it's just got to wipe out everything...emails...address book...everything. I finally banned it from my system completely. I'm using The Bat! now...it's actually kind of cool and let's you save your files wherever you want and is very stable...

Ive redone it on Word, but it's never the same
Damn, that's typical Ci Celli Ddu...I know how that feels. m1thr0s is right that after having this happen to you a few times you develop the habit of copying every once in a while after the post reaches a certain length. I've actually managed to fumble that *too* yesterday however, answering a relatively long post somewhere around here and then accidentally hitting Ctrl+V rather than Ctrl+C after selecting the whole post, managing to switch the whole post I had written with a four-liner I had replied just before that, sending the former permanently in
oblivion...
Extremely annoying thing to happen, and usually like you commented yourself even the second version does not feel like having quite the same quality to it...

I got used to copying a few years back but every once in a while I do a 'quickie' and press the wrong key somewhere a long the line.
The Bat looks much like Incredimail, which I used until I had to have a system restore last year and then lost everything, so its back to Outlook since it does have some useful features and you can move around it easily enough.
