Yay! David Bowie... I'm such a fan.
I guess the little fat man shouldnt feel so bad though... I mean... he is obviously.. inspiration... to the poets one might say. And to be the inspiration to one such as Bowie... I mean... wow.. I could only wish.
Anyway that was pretty cool.

Surrounded by mosquitos, flies and wasps, I had no choice but to learn tolerance when living in the wilderness. Having said that, the scene included in this clip with John Cleese and his car pretty much sums up how ugly I can get with inanimate objects. Enjoy.

No, my freind, those weren't Qabalists... those were Kabbalists ... and that was silly as hell. The Kabbalists here aren't even talking Kabbalah (at least on the video), they're just arguing philosophical idealism from what I can tell... It works in the humor section...I'd much rather hear the actual lecture. Okay... now they're getting into the 'God is pressure' idea... but still, When I see candy-coated stuff like that, I snarfle... I'm glad it's there though... What the Bleep do we know, was interesting though... but CHEEZARIFIC!

The original Creature Comforts (http://www.atomfilms.com/film/creature_comforts.jsp)
The film shows various animals in a zoo being interviewed about their living conditions. These include turtles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtles), a female gorilla (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorilla), a family of polar bears (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_bears) and a melancholic puma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cougar) who complains about the lack of "space" and the "grass with pollen that gives me hay fever every day!"
The dialogue was created by interviewing residents of a housing development, an old folks' home and a family that lived in a local shop (the polar bears). Clay animation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clay_animation) was then created that attributed the answers to zoo animals. One of the most popular characters was the puma. He was in fact a Brazilian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian) student who lived in a hotel and was talking about his own situation.

I think they are quite new... but there are no rules! :p
Gene Tierney reminded me of this one that I have been obsessed with for years, and that hits me with at least a few synchronicities on a regular basis:

Edit: is this the joke one or the song one... I always fuckin' mix up those two YouTube threads!

No that's a good one, ok here then, this is my two favorite Wagner pieces to be fair to the Germans...
YouTube - Hans Knappertsbusch condutcs ""Vorspiel" Die Walkure
nevermind the "Loge, Hor, Lausche Hieher" selection on youtube is crap, they don't have the right singers or anything. But yeah Vorspiel Act I is a beautiful German piece.

Wagner is great. I highly recommend listening to the entire Ring in one sitting (about 15 CDs or so). I had a few hours nap somewhere in there when I did it a few years ago, but my dreams never left the Ring world.
It beats meditation any day of the week!
Quite a trip!

Oh shit wait I found Donald Mcintyre's performance - Wotan in a suit, lol
YouTube - Wagner - Die Walkure
I saw this in Seattle in 1990ish....the performance was very classical, they had flying horses and everything and Wotan in a robe....
edit:
yes Deviadah I have always had a few different versions of The Ring Cycle in my collectin, it's very relaxing. But I will cordially disagree with you on the meditation part, my meditations are much more dramatic, x-rated and fiery than anything Wagner ever composed. Wagner had a great sense of humor in his operas as well, something that gets entirely overlooked I think.

Yeah he rips off everything (or is inspired). Just listen to these two examples (you only need to hear the start of each):

Well I know but I don't like Dvorak at all (nor symphony number nine - you can hear bits of Indiana Jones and Star Wars Imperial March in that) so it's fine by me if John gets his inspiration there, in my opinion he turns it into something much better and isn't afraid of experimental sound, for instance with chains and drums and weird sounds....

The IT Crowd
Computer users should love this...
The IT Crowd is set in the offices of Reynholm Industries, a fictitious British corporation in central London. It focuses on the shenanigans of the three-strong IT support team located in a dingy, untidy and unkempt basement - a stark contrast to the shining modern architecture and stunning London views enjoyed by the rest of the organisation. The obscurity surrounding what this company actually does (despite announcing profits such as "eighteen hundred billion billion") serves as a running gag throughout the series.
Moss and Roy, the two technicians, are portrayed as socially inept geeks or "standard nerds". Despite the company's utter dependence on their services, they are despised, ignored, and considered losers by the rest of the staff. Roy's exasperation is reflected in his support techniques of ignoring the phone in the hope it will stop ringing, and using reel-to-reel tape recordings of stock IT suggestions ("Have you tried turning it off and on again?" and "Are you sure it's plugged in?"). Moss's wide and intricate knowledge of all things technical is reflected in his extremely accurate yet utterly indecipherable suggestions, while demonstrating a complete inability to deal with practical problems like extinguishing fires and removing spiders.
Jen, the newest member of the team, is hopelessly non-technical, despite claiming on her CV that she has "a lot of experience with computers". As Denholm, the company boss, is equally tech-illiterate, he's convinced by Jen's interview bluffing and appoints her head of the IT department. Her official title is "relationship manager", yet her attempts at bridging the gulf between the technicians and the business generally have the opposite effect, landing Jen in situations just as ludicrous as those of her team-mates.
