I'm sorry, who was he?

He wrote 'The Illuminatus Trilogy' with Robert Shea, Uhm, 'Prometheus Rising' 'Everything is Under Control' 'THe Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy', and lots of other stuff. He was a Chaos Magician who was involved in (instrumental to) the Discordian movement, and such. He was a contemporary of Timothy Leary's, and tended to tount the 8-circuit brain model. He had much to say about Crowley as well... He jumpstarted a lot of young Magicians, particularly in the field of Chaos Magic. If you want a lot of laughs, check out the Illuminatus! It's pretty funny... (and smart)

Okay, Promethius Rising is enroute to me and I've heard of the 8 circuit brain theory but didn't connect. I C now, thanks.

Well that serves him right for being born. Studies have shown that being born inevitably leads to death.

...

But on a serious note I have to sadly congratulate him on a life well performed and wish the best for the next episode...

But an apple (or two) a day keeps the doctor away... :yes:Certainly. Also, Naomi, is that "kallisti" or "kallista"?

Kain

EDIT: Could be "ti kallisti" now that I think of it...if so, very clever...!

RAW's life was marred by some very weird tragedies at points...his 15 year old daughter was brutally mudered in 1976 while working in a record store in Berkeley, CA. His wife died of a stroke in 1999 and despite his fame he never really was all that financially secure, relying largely on gathered donations of friends for the latter part of his life etc. So his wit and wisdom came at a price. It wasn't all fun and games as is sometimes imagined from his writings alone.

rest in peace (for a bit...then get your ass back to work brother...)
