Assuming that there is such a predatory creature known as the vampire with anthropomorphic form and not the psychic counterpart that LaVey wrote about. What would be the creatures most needed element and why? Okay, we know that in most cases, blood and there's spirit essence, but why? For strength, features, knowledge, or to be able to feel again by using it's biological system again (to take a crap after your system shuts down could be euphoric I'd imagine) or longevity.
Going with longevity, I'd say the most suitable prey would be old people, why? Because they're around the longest. Perhaps, there's this old gene that's in them that I've missed on one of the many eps of Nat. Geo. and or old couples produce some sort of gene that preserves themselves longer that just so happens to flow in their plasma stream and the origin of the gene could be spawned from psychic bonding between the two.
ANyway, I'd imagine old people being more choice for this reason rather than being the easiest. I'd imagine that after feeding on one or two, a vampire wouldn't have the desire to feed for a few months, like a python digesting a deer. Any thoughts?

I don't

The Vampire can't receive nourishment for any biological reason. It is undead.

Okay. First off, you're talking about fictional vampires, right?
So they drink blood for longevity. WHich is what? To stay YOUNG. So why the hell would they want an old person's blood? For one, wouldn't any human blood do? And for two, wouldn't it make more sense for them to go after people in puberty, or at their sexual prime, or to drink babies' blood?
If you're talking about who would be their choicest victims, I would have to say hookers, because serial killers have been getting away with offing them for a long time, because they go to secluded places with random people they just met on purpose, and let the predator easily work them into a position of control away from prying eyes. BAM. Perfect victim. Also, drunks at bars. Same situation, except you might have to spend longer talking to them. Unless you go to a single's bar and look for the drunkest chick, or go to a gay bar, in which case it wouldn't be much more difficult than picking up a hooker, except for exposure, meaning a lot of people seeing your vampire ass walking off with their buddy, and then their buddy either disappearing or being found dead. On the one hand, despite political pressure against hate crimes that would arise, if you did it only once or twice in different bars, you'd have some easy victims amongst a segment of the population that most cops wouldn't give a shit about, and many would just say: "Good riddance. Yeah, I'm really concerned with solving this case! Ha ha ha!"
So, basically, hookers would be your best bet. Well, that and couples in out of the way places. But hookers would be easiest, but if they've swallowed recently, you might be getting some disgusting "life juice" with your blood, if you miss an artery and go for the windpipe!
Sorry, I don't believe in physical, blooddrinking, immortal vampires.

P.S.
But for the sake of argument, on the longevity question, old people doesn't make any sense at all. Babies makes a LOT more sense. Because you would be stealing their YOUTH, maybe?!

Vampirism is the practice of drinking blood from a person/animal. In folklore and popular culture, the term generally refers to a belief that one can gain supernatural (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernatural) powers by drinking human blood

It is from these supernatural powers that they can maintain youth and strength, not from any biological factors.

If the prey is learned in any sort of astral science he/she may try to resist you.. The remedy for this is simple. Take your hand (which may be in the form of a spiked gauntlet, taloned claw, as to your liking) and strike them as if you wished to cut them. this will enable you to go about your act of Feeding unhindered -Tempel of Azagthoth

Maybe in the backwaters you come from buddy...

Well, I am strongly Vampyre in many ways, and find it great fun. I don't really do the whole blood drinking thinking anymore, or once more yet, but mainly PSI stuff, primarily for reasons of public image and position once I'd opened my hand to the world' security services and stuff, given the position of sanguinarians as a whole in their desire for discretion (except for Laurent & co who don't give a flying fuck, but that's another story...).

The most needed element is a something to be addicted to. Doesn't have to be blood, but has to be something. Sex is the best one for it, as pretty much all advanced sexual practice is based on drawing energy from your partner or directing it into your partner. That's something PSI vamps are naturally very talented at... Drugs are also great fun, but you can use things like Chi Kung or martial arts or evern a hobby or sport. The key to recognising the Vampyre in these activties is that he or she will do it obsessively. They will be obsessive about at least one area of their life, focusing on it very exclusively, as much as possible, to the exclusion of most other things whenever possible pretty much. It's Principle Number One. In the Lore, it is called simply: Focus. Principle Number Two, incidentlaly, is 'From Form to Formlessness; From Formlessness to Form'; it's how we recombine our ambient reality, and also how you bypass the Five Elemental Process...

Now, for staying young you need jeng and jing. What the Taoist called pre-natal chi and basic sexual energy. You can draw these from people. The younger they are, after full puberty, the better. But you can also access universal stores of ths stuff if you know how. Flows more that way too...

Old people have weak energy and so their blood is... undesirable. Would actually have more of a negative effect than anything else. Generally you are what you eat so you want to choose useful targets, preferably strong ones with lots of cool abilities, or at least great beauty... Incidentally, it is not necessary to drain a subject unto death if you are sanguinarian, and, indeed, most such Vamps don't.

Oazaki.

For those looking for persons who at least perceive themselves as being Vampyre, the following site is the most 'authentic' resource and grouping of people on the open web (except for a Russian-laguage site whose link I've lost now anywayz):

ccd-I like that painting, sigh-it'd be nice to be in such days were women ran the cuntry side like that.

Anyway, okay so in Ancient/Traditional Western belief, the vampire is a being that takes blood from the living in order to keep living and or they just phantom forms of their former who stalk their burial mounds.
But I go by the modern/me now belief and I say that if a vampire exist (in which I believe they do in many shapes and forms with various functions) I say that it is a very interesting concept that they could feed on older people to last longer-Basically, I stand by my original thread. Thanks for sharing all.

Sure. But it's not clear to me to what exactly you were refering. It's a bit like starting a post with "Banana. Sometimes it's good to eat..."

Personally, I prefer Werewolves. There's a lot of people claiming to be werewolves, though they're not as easy to find on the internet as vampires, except as Yahoo groups. I wonder what they do if they finally ever meet up. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" kind of thing?

What are you guys on about???

hm but I see your point copuldaemon: I myself have young genes inherited and can be very glad. but how to find out whether someone has them or not? And the safest method would be to bite 90+yr old people since one can be most sure that they have them. they have proved "their worth" by living that long.

These powers are accepted as real first within the Nightside of the Vampire's mind and through lucid dreams. Then, from the Will's connection to the Powers of Darkness, these fantasies become realities.
There are five Grades of accomplishment for the Nightside Vampire:

The Vampire Initiate has chosen to verify the Nightside Teachings.
The Predator has verified the reality of Lifeforce Vampirism.
The Priest/Priestess has verified the reality of the Undead Gods.
The Sorcerer/Sorceress has verified the power of the Nine Laws of Magic.
The Adept has verified the nature of the Self and the hidden nature of reality. By developing the opposing Dayside and Nightside perspectives, the Vampire induces a tension between the worlds of truth and fantasy.

The result is a growing capacity to cause change in the material world such that dreams of the Night leave footprints in the Day.

This We call the Twilight.

* * *

From Temple of The Vampire's site. 'Day' would correspond to what is seen and presented physically, in the material world, whilst 'Night' would correspond to what is not physical, but ordinarily hidden. Twilight is what you get when you mix the two and is sometimes, in other traditions, known as 'walking between the worlds'.

Energy has qualities, and this quality to a particular energy can be felt, and known. Drawing energy from a specific victim, or target, will carry to you the qualities that energy has, ie that person's energy, what makes that person who or what he is. Hence, you come to understand your targets well.

Of course, one can also understand one's friends and co-Vampyres in the same way. Usually a reflection (an imprint of their patterns in Mind) is used for that rather than a draw.

So, the most useful targets are usually the choicest targets. Many view this world as polluted and impure, including her knowledge sources, hence why we rely more on individual direct percpetion of truth than written records, which are ever only a starting point where Vampyrekind are concerned. But that is most oft how we learn: thru our targets, or 'victims'. And that is most oft how we choose our victims, until we have passed what is known as 'The Barrier'. After that, different priorities apply and one's targets are chosen differently.

There is more to the decision, of course.

Oazaki.
