I am confused.

There are so many books on the occult out there that I can't deicide on which is in my line of study.

I am new to Luciferianism. I started researching Luciferianism a few days ago actually. I see Luciferian Philosophy and Luciferian Gnosis (which is another name for Spirituality or Witchcraft I guess? I could be wrong. Let me know.) And Luciferian Witchcraft. I see alot of Micheal Ford when I look for Luciferian witchcraft.

I like the modern philosphical Luciferian concepts alot. I feel really comfortable with the idea of having Lucifer as a symbol to represent my intellect, individuality, wisdom, enlightenment. Then I see Satan. I am comfortable with the idea of having Satan as a symbol to represent my earthy carnal ways. When I look for more info similar to my ideas I run into Lilith, Bealzebub (sp?). It's just all very confusing. I like the ideas of Lucifer, Satan, Belial, and Leviathan as symbols to represent myseld.

Could someone point me in a direction that has similiar veiws to my own?
And, how far back does Luciferianism date?

I have read throughly the Church of Lucifer and I just can't take the fact they post information on there like the Princples of Lucifer and not give sources as to where they have taken it from.

I don't know if anyone can really say how long Luciferianism has been around. It seems most of us kind of just developed this path on our own. I "invented" it (for myself mind you) about 4 years ago. In reality though, it's a path I've been following my whole life. It simply didn't have a name or a theme...it was just the way I am.

Personally, I don't care for the Church of Lucifer at all. I don't like going to sites and having people tell me how to do magick and how to follow Lucifer. These are very personal things and there is no right or wrong way to do it. I've also heard they have some anti-semetic tendencies and I can't approve of that.

Really, all I can say is that this is going to be a long journey. You're going to have to dig into everything and put it all together in a way that makes sense to you. Luciferianism is complex and a bit mysterious. You'll find if you dig deep enough though, there is actually a lot of information out there...it just isn't all labeled Luciferian.

Yes, I agree with Danisty, that no one should determine how to correctly follow a path, everyone's different and goes about things differently.
I have to say, Michael W. Ford is an excellent author, IMO. I've learned a lot from reading, well actually skimming (I can't read it fully like I want to yet :(.)
his book, Luciferian Witchcraft, and I am looking to buy others!

You can have whatever demons/entities/dieties etc. you would like to follow.
If you want to only follow a few, then by all means, do so, and vice-versa.
Hope that helps,
~Christopher

Hi Christopher,

I finally got around to ordering Michael Ford's "Luciferian Witchcraft" (LW). I had been curious about it for a while. It arrived a couple days ago and today I had a chance to start reading it... I'm sorry to say that I'm not impressed. While I can't really speak about the information content yet, LW already reminds me of Nigel Jackson and Michael Howard's "Pillars of Tubal-Cain" (PoTC) in terms of product quality. Both books are in serious need of proper editing. Here's an example from page 15 of LW:

Eight is recent years has been a number significant to Chaos, being the 8 - pointed chaos star and the Algol sigil, the Sabbatic Star etc.

That is exactly how the text of that sentence appears in the book, nothing added or removed. After reading it a couple times I'm pretty sure that I'm getting the gist of what he's trying to convey, but wow, I'd be embarrassed to have that in my book if I was a published author. That's just one example of the spelling mistakes and awkward grammar that I've already come across and I'm only on page 15! I hope the actual information content is worth it. Just FYI, I did think that the info content of PoTC was pretty decent, although I only read it once. I might have read it twice if the editing wasn't so piss poor.

Greetings,
I'm sure there are many resources out there to check out but to be honest with you, your feet are going to have to get wet. Meaning, you're going to have to buy many different books, meet & converse with alot of people, and research each group or order and make up your own mind based off of your conclusions-unfortunately, there's no other way around this.

As far as I'm concerned with the origins of it, it's pretty much modern since it has surfaced deeply now with in the last 4 years.

As far as the dieties/fallen seraphs go, they pretty much are atavisms or icons that represent the those parts of yourself. If you notice, each spirit has some sort of human apsect to it, depending on what you want to work on, that's the one you work with.
good luck

I think the Lucifer diaries is a good tool. You can also use the reference material as resources as well.A lot of it is searching for yourself.I like Luciferian Witchcraft personally. In reference to the editing mistakes and grammar errors I am not particularly concerned with them.I can understand what i am reading. But it is a personal preference.I agree that there are errors.I am not arguing that BTW.But i just overlook it.It could be a editing error on the part of the publisher for all i know.I would not attribute it to the author necessarily.
