Adapted from an article by Jim Shawvan (http://www.jshawvan.homestead.com/).
Generally in astrological work and what is viewed as 'The Standard Version of History' we are told that the USA was founded/created by the signing of the Declaration of Independence on 4th July 1776. It is this Time Event which dominates the Idea of what America is and stands for in the popular psyche - and certainly to Americans themselves, for the most part. The Declaration of Independence is taken to be an idealistic and forward-looking (for the time) document whose precepts were those of equality (except for blacks, who were inferior, not human and therefore it was OK to treat them as property), freedom, independence from tyrrany and the like. It's a nice image, and is essentially what the American Dream is based on and represents: a righteous, just, forward-looking vision of hope and integrity. Here's the chart which embodies and expresses that energy:

However, apparently, research into Philadelphian historical documents, Primary Source Material, reveals a somewhat different story. The front page of the Philadelphia paper for July 2nd 1776, two days earlier, includes a notice stating that Congress had voted for Independence on that day. David Solte, the premier researcher in this field in my opinion, would also refer to a letter from John Adams to his wife, which contained words to the effect that Americans would always celebrate 2nd July as the date of their independence. On the 4th, apparently, Congress adopted the final wording to be sent to the printer, but no-one actually signed the Declaration of Independence until August! The fact that fifty years later both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson passed away on July 4th might have something to do with the choice to celebrate Independence day on the 4th.
In fact, upon research into the minutes of the Continental Congress, it is found that the motion to adopt the Articles of Confederation was passed by Congress on 15th November 1777 at a meeting in York, Pennsylvania. Until Congress passed this bill there was no central US government; in fact, until the Articles of Confederation the Congress itself was really only a debating society, without the power to levy taxes or raise an army. The French government wanted to come to the aid of the Thirteen Colonies, for its own reasons, but refused to do so until there was - at least in theory - a single national government with which they could negotiate, rather than thirteen independent states with no coherent means of uniting around any given policy. Thus, the Continental Congress formed the first true national government of the US in order to get aid from France, so that the colonies could win the war for independence. This chart for the USA looks like this:

Thus, what we have on 2nd July 1776 is the Formation of Clear Intent that Independence is the way forward. On 4th July 1776 that Intent was Formalized in Words. Independence itself cannot be said to have come about properly speaking until Independence had actually been brought about, ie with the conclusion of the War of Independence. But what founded the Government? That would be the Articles of Confederation mentioned above. That is the chart which 'begun' the US government as it were: processes, institutions, aims, desires and so on. The thing about those two charts is that they're very different. The Declaration chart is dominated by a Venus-Jupiter conjunction (much like the Zhedhi chart in fact, except our Venus-Jupiter conjunction is also part of a wider eclipse formation, and stronger by far, closer in orb also): love of liberty, freedom, justice, lustful amorous pursuits, philosophy, idealism, plenty and so on. The Articles chart is dominated by a Mercury-Saturn conjunction: concentration of the mind, limitation of the mind and control of resources. In this contradistinction we see the difference between the American Public and their governmental hierarchies, institutions and active, on-duty personnel. People worldwide, and domestically, view America as a reflection of the 4th July 1776 chart because that is how their mind and perceptions have been set up to work: they've been taught a certain version of history and they've accepted it. However, the reality of America is a combination of the Intent, its wording, its adoption and the practical military victory which allowed for the implementation of the vision. The reality of America as a political and military entity, however, is a combination of different factors: formal legal process, establishment of confederation, interlinkage of governmental posts and so on. But it is dominated by the 1777 chart.
Thus, the American public view themselves as one thing and try to be that whilst the American government and governmental personnel operate to a very different set of gateways and agendas. It is this 'opposition from within' that was designed from the outset to create tensions within the American system which would lead to its own demise, and spread to the outer world as well.
With the Zhedhi chart we have taken the original harmonic which went to produce the optimism and freedom of action etc which brought forth the drive to independence and idealistic vision and combined it with quite extreme alignments for Victory in World War. Have not others used that same chart you ask? No, for they did not know how to do it properly and anyway the idea didn't occur to them. Things were sealed pretty tight back before 2003. Even the Magi Society didn't think of such an option or course...
But for the tenets of this present article the main thing to note is the fact that the American people are living in a dream, a common mass-illusion where they believe their country to be a certain way, embodying certain values and principles which manifest in action and are demonstrated in practice. In fact, this is not the case and has never been. Some illusions are just very strong and persistent. But, for magick to be real, well, it must be real. And that is something that cannot be said about America's Foundation Chart. Nor about America.
When the illusion ends is the vision set free? - A question for American patriots who don't like what their governments have done to their country... since the beginning. Ask, then: why did it take a Bush and a Cheney to cause most to open their eyes? One might as well ask why it took an Iraq to reveal the inherently nasty nature of the systems of Commercial Practice: the public doesn't listen to subtlety. Perhaps, though, it might soon be time to begin thinking?
